the larger the better, if signal received still weak, can add amplifier to boost signal

usually antenna can last a long time, could be cable problem, or may be connection at the antenna rusted out

I think every brands' outdoor antenna provide about same picture quality. The most important to get clear image is the locations of your house.

Get a booster is better solutions

more re-radiation elements on the front, more signal received

of using booster, then can use smaller antenna

So far the best terrestrial aerial is the MASPRO brand...I'm not sure the ones sold at the local electrical shop is ORI or not.
You can view the catalog and also more advance installation tips here:
http://www.maspro.co.jp/en/rev04/homef/home_top.html

Not everything can be cured with a booster, sometimes image become worst.

So fixing it up is best left to the pro...but here is Malaysia seems like everyone is a pro.

Different installer got different way of tuning the reception, some use a meter, some simply learn it by hard, some need actual two person to do it.
So it depends.

Installation of the aerial is also important so that it will not dislocated during heavy wind etc, and make sure when the go up the dun damage the roof tile.
Take note...once you fix it, after a while the image will deteriorate given time depending on a lot of factors, so this is not something like a plug and play stuff.

The price is not cheap to get a proper job...I'm not talking abt the RM180~300 stuff..haha

A decent MASPRO UHF antenna will cost you about RM400 alone.....without installations and cabling accessories notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I bet you never installed a MASPRO antenna.
Usually i'll go for a higher gain antennas first without adding any boosters.
Boosters for me is a piece of junk.

You can get the MASPRO brand from reputable electronic / electrical shops.
When they do the installation, make sure you are getting the right thing...most contractors are cheaters..not easy to get a good fella
