what you think the graphics of PS2 in your new LCD TV?
*
Great. Not outstanding of course (read:old skool ma), but great. Latest PS2 games like the GT/God of War for example struck a great compromise. The best looking game thus far has got to be GT4.

If u have the budget, i suggest u go plasma. Pretty much EVERY LCD out there has backlight problems. Not many people can live with it.

for me i think its kinda ok for those game which are build for wide screen

for games like initial d: special stage it would be a pain as it isnt built for widescreen and u can feel the lagness and slow motion of the game when u are driving. tat make me feel dizzy when driving on night time with light off
*
That alone cannot be pin pointed to the LCD. Perhaps even the PS2 will find it taxing to display in this mode. How about u try disabling 16:9 in PS2 config and let the LCD do the scaling. Then u can clearly see the culprit.

The best thing about this LG tv being paired with my PS2 is that the universal remote ot my tv is able to control my PS2. Later version have Ir receiver built in. So so convinient. Although i have another universal, but i think LG is doing the right thing.

whoaa... howmuch for tat LG?
*
U can easily get them at RM3300. U go audition first la, i may not be the right thing for u, i mean there are better models around. One thing for sure, LG is the only company pushing convinience together with it's TV. Dun forget, mine is the slim PS2.

abor? lastfew weeks, LG 32" selling for like 2999 or 2899

in SG they are selling it for sgd997

redken, how is the PQ of LG?, ok tak?
*
I dun think u can get that price local. The lowest i have seen is RM3299. I think acceptable la. Mine doesnt suffer from any serious problem expect perhaps abit of un-even backlighting. This is common for many LCD out there, whether the owners doesnt realise it or they are in denial mode.

omg!! wow thats cheaper than 24inch dell monitor!!
*
Stil much more expensive. Dell is more suitable for those who can read dpi's while HDTV is more of a real estate. To each his own. A word of caution though, the Dell has many scaling issues. HDTV is more suited for general purpose.

I don't like Astro on Widescreen LCDs because everything would be stretched to fill the screen. Sure...... you can switch to 4:3...... but do you really want to have 2 black bars running down the side???

I still watch Astro on my good ol' 32" CRT..... Playing games on the big Ol' 47" LCD Toshiba Regza..... will post pics of my setup when I can......

For ur info, LG has this 14:9 feature. Handy aint it smile.gif

Was hesitated at first to post my gaming setup...and finally, here is the gaming setup taken at my weekend apt with my beloved 42" Sharp Aquos G7 (1080p). All game disk, and hd-dvd/blueray movies r kept inside the TV rack cabinets. The empty space on the right of the LCD TV is reserved for the PS3. Will post my PC gaming setup later togethr with my separate audio hi-fi....

For PS2 and the likes, non progressive display is fine. As for me, i personally feel that the improvement introduced by higher resolutions (HD) as compared to progressive gaming isn't as significant.

not tat much true... but for finer details like wordings, they do

i remember watching a blu ray mobie the other day, and i couldnt make out wat tat wording was on 576p, and wen i tested on HD, it was clear
*
I say relatively. Not ultimately. Even when it's HD, if it's interlaced, it doesn't do any good. Wordings are static, in this case, interlaced video is enough. The quality is entirely dictated by the amount of scan lines available. During actual game play with high fps, the scenario is reversed. Whereby progressive images can significantly reduce motion blur.
