Holy cow.

I think String pwns pretty much most if not all of us LYN posters. I'll need to sell both kidneys to compete tongue.gif .

My setup - (didn't have time to get pics, hehe maybe later):

1.5 year old Xbox (modded) and
3.5 year old PS2 (modded) connected to:
29" Philips Pixel Plus 2 CRT with Virtual Dolby Surround and support for 480p, 720p and 1080i
and Pioneer HTZ323 Progressive Scan home theatre system/DVD player.

Xbox connected at 480p.

so until I make enough to buy an apartment, this will have to do.

Lord Ashe, you setup is next-gen ready, should be good for the oncoming onslaught of the next gen superconsoles! thumbup.gif

If i have the option, id rather have the picture clarity of the CRT HDTV but i also want the size and space-saving properties of the LCD HDTVs. The compromise? LCd perhaps? But im waiting for that technology to mature before invensting in the next TV, perhaps once we have 1080p as standard on these LCD HDTVs.Imagine, dual-screen HDTV Gran Turismo 5 goodness! *orgasms*
*
You're right. LCD HDTVs will definitely be lighter and easier on the living room space. But I think we'll see a marked decrease in price as manufactures try to catch the HDTV market in Asia. I theorise though that the most succesful will be the one who actually diversifies their product range to include sub 40" sets at a reasonable price, as for most people it'll be their first encounter with HDTV technology. Once the installed base is high enough, people will usually decide to upgrade to a bigger set - and so on. The common fallacy is to push the biggest screens first; which means only the richest get to enjoy it, and it'll do nothing to boost sales to regular wage earners, who IMHO deserve HDTV too, and then who'll recommend it to their friends and so on.

I think this is feasible in a couple of years, regardless of whether free to air digital transmissions become the norm. Too many asians love their DVD players and game consoles to NOT want a HDTV, heheh.

Gran Turismo 5 at 1080p on HDTV dual screen? I think I'm gonna burst a vein!

Nice setup! How much is the rack going for? Damn hard to find a simple looking rack without doors. Wonder why.

Thanks bro. The rack itself shouldn't cost you more than RM 199. I got it at Cavenzi in the LDP furniture mall. These days the new patterns are all without doors - those glass doored ones are a pain in the head!
