anyone has tried o/c and then running benchmarking ?
im using setcpu to further o/c and i've set my freq range from 19mhz to 650mhz. ( default value was 528mhz)
original benchmark b4 o/c was only 0.6mflops. now its at least showing a decent 2.6 mflops. and my scrolling seems to be a lot more smoother.

anyone else tries to o/c their phone ?

It's so easy to root and overclock the Motorola Milestone. See my video below

you can set lower cpu speed when screen off to save battery

as now i set my screen off with 176-245 minmax , screen on 352-691 minmax.
With moderate use, batt can stand about 36hrs.

O/C 768 Kernel on HTC Legend. Too bad can't get higher than that.

Quadrant : 540
Linpack : 10Mflops
Neocore : 38.7FPS

After O/Cing I do notice the difference. Everything is slightly faster, even 3D games. Some of the devs said that its only placebo effect but I don;t think so.

Yeah, O/Cing is only dangerous to certain degree. Every chip can run faster than what they are market at. Just don't push it too far or poof! Lol.

You need to flash a custom kernel. Yes, you need root access for SetCPU to work.

ocing to 1.1Ghz got me a score of around 12mflops in linpack, and this is my daily settings now, slight loss of battery life is fine with me cause i need to charge it daily anyway..
