i helped a friend to OC using GOT recovery.. quite simple too i guess.. too bad the milestone does not support custom kernel ==". Motorola surely needs to give more freedom to devs n being more open

I'm not familiar with GOT Recovery?
Anyway, the Universal Androot is so simple. It's an app which ask you do you want to root or unroot. U click on the Root button, and that's it. One click is all it takes to Root or go back to unroot.

It doesn't give you full SU access. I can't seem to delete certain apps using the androot method.

If u mean u wanna remove the default MotoNav? It is possible. I've removed mine already.
Basically, u need to download and install a Terminal Emulator like this one http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.android.term

Then u need to type in some linux command to remove your default MotoNav app. To get the linux commands, just google for "How to remove uninstall MotoNav on Motorola Milestone" and u will find a few forum postings teaching you the linux commands.

I'm using this version

There is another version in the Android market too.
