For those that are still on stock rom sg set, can please let me know the system version, baseband version, kernel version and build number?

which rom is better in terms of overall performance?

My Singapore set (Dec 2010) come with 2.51, i think the new batch all come with 2.59 already.

hi guys. need some insight from all the sifus here . sorry if this is kind of a noob question...

Currently my Defy is using the build number JRDNEM_U3_2.59.

If after i flash to froyo and decided to revert back to the original 2.59 eclair rom later on, can i do it and will it it restore the recovery to original as well?
(assuming i have the original 2.59 sbf file)

If you read further down that page, 'Android 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 "fixed sbf`s (CG31, CG39 removed)'

The 31 and 39 are the files that's preventing downgrade. There are download links provided in there already. The way to revert back to your original stock rom, considering you've made a nandroid backup of it, is to full flash any of the froyo sbf then flash again the fixed sbf of the same build number 

Now you can full flash back any 2.51, 2.59 sbf with ease

Any of you know the different after enable Jit at SetVsel???  and I'm fail to put in picture here direct from Defy default browser and Miren browser

Added on March 17, 2011, 2:30 pmYa, on the previous post, it's stated that the fix sbf can let u downgrade...but obviously when i try to downgrade to original sbf 2.51....it bricked my phone. So try at your own risk...

can some1 share their comment / review on this phone ?

Cannot...u have to flash to CEE 3.4.2-155-002 Deblur ...then apply the Barebones v1.3 zip + the update zip.

But beware...this rom is really bare...nothing inside. You have to go market and dl apps yourself. But he really clean out a lot of rubbish.

My quadrant score is averaging from 1550 - 1600++ ...the highest i got is the 1 i posted on the post above....and that is right after i restart my phone.

i wonder if the performance will be dragged down if you install tons of apps like me...
200++ apps installed
hd games are very smooth using jboogie honey rom oc 1100
u can get them for free if u try google abit 
even there are apps that can dl paid apps for free 
again..google is your friend

I dont reallly play hd games on phone, i have ps3 and my desktop for that purpose 
But i will try later just to test it out.

nope, it was a fresh install. right after i followed EVERYTHING on the first post of the thread, restoring nandroid backup then flashing then install the .zip file then the update.zip and everything, i installed titanium backup and reinstalled setvsel and quadrant advanced and ran quadrant. then gave me the results so-so only

max i got was like 14xx like that

When u cannot hear the other person talking from the other side but they can hear u...u have the infamous earpiece problem....brought to u specially from Motorola.

I updated my firmware from 2.51 to 2.59 (Still Eclair 2.1 Update 1) last week. Only difference I noticed is a slight improvement on battery life. Other than that, I didn't detect much changes....

hmm do you guys put screen protector on this phone?since it is made by corning glass so i assume it will never get scratch?

im currently still on stock uk 2.51 firmware and it seems ok. even with motoblur, the homescreens transition are quite smooth
