Like what Sanosizo has said, the screen can be scratched and my defy is a good example.

The stabbing youtube video is impressive, I personally have tried it already. The thing is it gives you a false idea of it being invincible while a few speck of sand will scratch it deep if ample force is applied intentionally or unintentional.

Maybe try stabbing it with a ceramic blade and see if it scratches since mostly people use metal or steel stuff to do the test.

Screen protector? Why'd you need that for? I tried stabbing and scratching the screen with a key, no problemo tongue.gif

heres a vid of what the Gorilla Glass can stand.

Sanosizo, that is a good example that you have found there !

Anyway, have you fix your phone?

@Willbeth, you should probably ask Sanosizo, I think he benchmark it with the Quadrant already and his Defy sadly is affected by the earpiece issue, UK set though.

In XDA forum people have been overclocking it like crazy.

But so far I am pretty comfortable with the speed so maybe after a while I will try overclocking my Defy.

Yeah, I use Z4root 1.3 to root. Very easy and Z4root gives you the option to temporary or permanently root your phone. Even if you choose permanent root they still provide you the option to unroot.

Just overclocked my defy. Now running at 1ghz 56vsel. Don't dare to go higher. Version 2.34 and overclock defy is very good right now, everything is fast and snappy.

Sanosizo, what app are you using to set the speed when your screen is off?

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Jan 7 2011, 10:49 PM)
Cool thing about wifi tethering is your phone acts like a wifi access point where up to 5 wifi capable devices can use the internet coming from your phone. And you can still make and receive call at the same time.

It is safe to run the phone at 1ghz because that's the original speed. But to save some battery power, I keep it running at 800 and slow it down to 300 when the screen is off.

Not sure about the picture with GPS tagging but GPS is quite accurate everytime I use it. You need to make sure there is a GPS lock on first though.

The GPS icon must not be flashing when you take the picture.

All those apps are open in the background. Unless you delete the app(need root) or configure the task killer to close them each time you turn off your screen.

I think you can try to get different browser for a change, opera, firefox and quite a few have mobile browser.

Yea, but I will stick with the Defy for quite a while.

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Jan 10 2011, 04:34 PM)
thats normal for a phone, and with the technology moving very fast, the defy will be obsolete in 6 months time, as other phones biggrin.gif

within 2-3 months, people will start using dual core phones. consider all single core obsolete already tongue.gif

Did you put it in water too long? It is water resistant, not water proof.

So far I think testing the Defy "kaw kaw" is not the way to go. Although maybe tougher than other smartphones, it is certainly not really built like the likes of Sonim and other really tough phones.
