since we're all on 2.5.1, we cant flash to any .sbf straight away. the only way to get other rom on our defy is by using nandroid backup.

1) root and get cwm mod intro defy first by using this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889133

2) wipe cache and data

3) use this nandroid backup of froyo 2.2
http://www.multiupload.com/QV2WICWW1R

4) flash defy_2.2_boot_only sbf via rsd lite 4.9

5) DO NOT wipe. just reboot.

done.

Where's this defy_2.2_boot_only sbf file?

we now have a fully working froyo rom for defy. there are 2 types of rom, 1 is the chinese 2.2 and another is ported from cliq 2 rom. the readme says no bugs so far, so hop on to xda-developers forum for it.

as for me, i need to send my phone for repair first sad.gif

What did not work:

- Camera and Compass (fixes not working)

Should I wait for cliq 2 or chinese 2.2?

I checked for you, seems like its the easiest way to take screenshots without root. sad.gif

Why not root then? If you root it'll be so easy to take.
*
It's a bit complicated to root with our Defy especially with 2.51 base. Z4root can only do unroot unfortunately sad.gif Haven't try superoneclick though. Easiest way is to flash to 2.21 boot only then apply clockwork mod recovery with superuser. Then flash back 2.51 boot only. From here on porting to different custom froyo is easy breezy biggrin.gif I have tried all the avaiable froyo and the blurless one is definitely the most stable and highest in quadrant benchmark rclxms.gif

Any high end games can recommend? Want to try how this phone handle the graphic smoothness now tongue.gif
