Finally have my Unifi working on Mikrotik RB750B router with IPTV. Now i can junk the dlink for good. Manage to configure the router accordingly after TM came to replace my dead Dlink which allows me to sniff the iptv packet.

I was harping on the wrong setup all the while. IPTV packets doesn't go through PPPoE but rather just directly to TM server. If you disconnect PPPoE, your IPTV will still work. All the while i was configuring my router to be Q-in-Q thinking it is the PPPoE also trunking vlan600 frame.

The STB box will make direct DHCP call to get IP from TM, without your PPPoE. From then on, it is between STB and TM. So even if your Unifi account is locked or password changed, your STB can still work. I believe the MAC address of STB is registered with TM. Stupid me of setting up internal DHCP server distributing IP for STB and trying to NAT + Masq it earlier.

The setup is just to bridge the physical ethernet (link to stb) against vlan600 setup on the wlan ethernet for IPTV. Ensure no firewall is placed on bridge.

For PPPoE, just create vlan500 under the physical ethernet link to wlan. Confugre PPPoE under this vlan500.

Probably you could ask if anyone in the list live near to you and would be able to pick it up on behalf and you can kautim where you want to pickup the router. klseet organised this bulk buy and I don't think he take any profit .. and furthermore, we've agreed that it will be at the curve, guess that is the best for everyone.

Its not capped on the router. Its capped on your account.

Hi,

Sorry, I think I'm confused. Is there a section in the DIR-615 web / admin console showing the line up / down speed , SNR and all that info?

Also, shouldn't it be capped at a slightly higher speed compared to the account though? (overhead and all)

Thanks again.

No, such info is never shown in routers because its basic function to route packets. It is shown in modems and in the case of Unifi, the info is shown in the BTU. As far as I know, fibre line itself is not speed capped but the speed cap for your account is capped a bit higher than what you pay for.

Ok guys, may I suggest the following options for those who can't make it to TheCurve:
1. take LRT to Kelana Jaya, I'll drop by after TheCurve
2. if really must go LowYat, then I'll schedule a day sometime next week.
3. if both the above still cannot, then you probably have to come to my area to pick-up

Please either PM or SMS me if you cannot make it there, I'll try my best to see what can I do! icon_rolleyes.gif

I am ok with either The Curve or Kelana Jaya LRT.

From my opinion the best location to meet-up is the Mamak restoran opposite LRT Kelana Jaya Station. Meet-up in one place instead of 3 places..& cause inconvenience to klseet. Oh ya remember to give him some token of appreciation like RM10 / belanja teh tarik or something for his effort to organise this bulk purchase.

Ah, thanks for the clarification smile.gif How does one check the BTU for this info? Is it something I can do at my end?

Thanks klseet ! Really appreciate your effort. I am fine with either TheCurve or Kelana Jaya LRT, would prefer Kelana Jaya LRT if possible.
Thank you. Please let me know the arrangement.

Go back this version or the previous version, there is a guide to assign VLAN on the BTU to allow surfing when connected directly to it. Inside you'll find the info you need on how to set your local IP address and login details to the BTU.

Sorry bro, typo. It is RB750G (gigabit version). Landasan is selling it at $310. They were telling me it was selling well for resolving Unifi, so i guess many folks who made the purchase knew that they are able to configure this thing. Not sure how many they have left. I'll drop in a quick setup screenshot (and maybe some terminal commands) later in the evening.

One thing for sure, i've not have any jitters or lagging IPTV. Been running it for few days now without any glitch. You can see from the switch a constant 8mbps just for the IPTV alone and about 5-10% CPU utilisation (even if i've blasted it with huge download via VIP5).
