This morning, my Unifail seems to have no service again. No internet, no IPTV, no VOIP

no one comment?

After less than ONE day of unifi... the router management page is NOT accessible and I could not browse the web from my web browser.. but I notice the torrent sharing is still working... the router must have ran out of new TCP sessions or free ports to serve new connection..

Restarted both the modem ( unifi is in condo in Mont Kiara, so I guess it is VDSL2) & router.. everything back to normal after that..

This d-link router really sux man!!!!

Now I know why everyone is changing this piece of crap....

Well welcome to the club mate, today is the seventh day internet down,their installer drop by yesterday @ 4.00pm which i specifically instructed that to come after 5 which of course no one at home, i even ask him to wait and tell him will belanja him a bit and while rushing back home the guy call me and said he already on his way to go home as his work hour already finish.

my issue is the previous installer did not close the instalation properly which status is pending in their system which make it them cannot create any TT and hence could not log any report...

my phone called is more then 20 times already which most of the time i have to repeat the same old thing to diferent guy/department like an old bloody broken record...

wonder how much i can tahan if this is still going on, im also in the customer service dealing with mercedes benz center which make me wondering if by my company standard i be terminated or fired instantly for a bad service.

i use for like a month.. normal usual.. ytd i use torrent and i get 2.1 mb down and 2 mb up..

I was in the same boat... Service was down from 7/9 and only restored on 14/9, changed my fiberhome modem...

Anyway, a complaint has been logged with the MCMC and subsequently forwarded to the 'good' ppl at Unifi... Shall see what the response is like...

ok guys, i;ve try flashing it with DD-WRT C1 last night. but there are some settings that i can't seem to find. for example:::

the vlan tagging configurations in the network tab. I can't seem to find the value 'vlan2'. this means the port setting also i can't see vlan2. I went on and test it with the PPPoE settings but i can't get any internet.

then i flashed it with the DD-WRT rev D, then the router crashes again. so.... still uni-fail

bro alexjaya, u wre saying that i need to edit the bin file. how do i do that and what values to change?

Anyone here knows of any symptom before the DIR-615 go kaput??

I noticed the CallerID of the VOIP is working now.

Do you need to subscribe CallerID service ? I only see Private call when receiving call.

yeah.. mine also not lighted for the LAN port.. as for the LAN port 4 (IPTV) sometimes it's lighted then after awhile watching (less then 5 min) then gone liao...

I did call to subscribe back in July, but it never got activated until last week.

I called CS to fixed the Caller ID, now it work for my phone.

yushin, where did you get your hp Procurve 1700-8? If the Mikrotik RB250GS turns out useless for IPTV, I may want to buy a hp Procurve 1700-8.

I got it from Ingram Micro through my company account. How lag is your IPTV lag? Is it so bad until unwatcable?
My IPTV got a bit of jerking when I switch channel and occationally while watching. Not really big deal lor.

The IPTV lag between DIR-615 and RB250GS very noticable?

Unwatchable, the error message came out saying "Service is temporarily not available", after 2-3 times it just totally freeze. I will try again tonight to disable the Auto Negotiation and force Full Duplex, not sure it will help. But anyway, last night I couldn't get live TV through both DIR-615 and RB250GS, so there was already line problem. But DIR-615 can play VOD ok but not RB250GS. So, I am not sure if it is a line problem or hardware problem, or just a configuration problem. However, RB250GS only has 96KB RAM, is it too small and caused the buffering problem?

I did the testing on my Fiberhome with the RB250GS before recommending it. I was torrenting at 2.5MB/s while streaming HD and VOD content on the IPTV STB without any jerking. It was actually smoother than using the DIR-615 when switching between channels. The RB250GS is perfectly capable of handling 1mbps/8mbps IPTV streams
