QUOTE(Tentris @ Sep 14 2010, 04:29 PM) Thanks man. There are 2 files to download... which one is the correct one? The factory-to-ddwrt.bin or the other one? get the factory one, which is for fresh ddwrt install. the other file is for upgrade from an old version of ddwrt.http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?pa...k_tl-wr941ndv4/ |

The link is for v4, are you sure?If it's TL-WR941ND v3.2, then the correct link is: ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V...k_tl-wr941ndv3/ use file "factory-to-ddwrt.bin" for 1st time flash. |

QUOTE(billytong @ Sep 14 2010, 08:41 PM) Oh ... i have retail 615, but i don want to try ... hahahaThis is because, from what i read, the retail 615 is a solid entry level hardware just bundled with a crap firmware. So with a DDWRT firmware, its a solid router. My TM router died on me 7 days after installation. This retail one is still going on steady .. |

QUOTE(alexjaya @ Sep 14 2010, 09:04 PM) Oh ... i have retail 615, but i don want to try ... hahaha I hope i dont get cursed anything this but after 2 replacement routers first one lasted about less then 24 after the day of installation and 2nd one was replaced about 6 days later. since then for 1 and a half months this particular TM 615 has been excellent. can put heavy load constant torrent and gaming at same time no lag plus some browsing and IPTV tested to perform well. so for me now i come to the conclusion that it a fault with the batch of routers given out not the actual router itself. It is not like TM trying to give poor quality ones out in my opinion. I even setup wireless printer/scanner and scan at high resolution therefore sending data at max 54 Mb G standard still ok. This is because, from what i read, the retail 615 is a solid entry level hardware just bundled with a crap firmware. So with a DDWRT firmware, its a solid router. My TM router died on me 7 days after installation. This retail one is still going on steady .. I just hope this will last years. This is my 3rd router is exceed my expectations. the 2nd times it broke, i had to call everyday for many days until scolding so many of the call center until some1 come here to replace. Such a pain. I think TM need to find out why certain number of their dlink is like this. If all TM routers performs like mine i can tell u don t really need to get alternative routers or firmwares as this is just fine. |

Glad to hear that from you calvin92, I hope I have the same batch of router as your 3rd one which was early September 2010. And it will save our money for something else. Using TM 615 my upload is about 3 - 4mb/s Using Retail 615 my upload is about 18 - 19mb/s This still happens even today... i need to break my router one more time i think ... Third time's a charm ... haha |

QUOTE(HenDa @ Sep 14 2010, 03:59 PM) tried.... i m calling customer representative everyday and they tell me that their technician will contact me soon by today or tomolo, and i get no calls from them at all... this getting me frustrated... ok..now to all who have unstable/keep dc..This what i did :Change current BIOS to dd-wrt(sad u have to lose IPTV) but ur internet will back on and stable again. If you still insist want IPTV(like me) i will be buying a new router(Asus RT-N13U) and i will have it as vlan and make it as my router to have my IPTV.. Riz,in that case i have to revert to Original DIR615 BIOS first right before using new router(since i want use IPTV)? |

Ok, let me get this straight, if I were to get new router(flashed to DDWRT) and vlan to DIR615 (ori firmware), will I still be able to connect my IPTV? No right?
So if I get new router, vlan it together with DIR615 and both are having original firmware, that would mean I would be able to use IPTV? If that's the case, the cable for IPTV goes to new router or DIR615? |

If that's the case, the cable for IPTV goes to new router or DIR615? 1. You buy new router. Flash with dd-wrt. 2. You keep original DIR-615 with original firmware as VLAN bridge. 3. You can still view IPTV because your iptv will connect to your DIR-615, not the new router. Correct me if i'm wrong, sifus. That's my intended network setup plan. |

That's right, the IPTV is connected via TM DIR-615 (red LAN port) which has been allocated with the firmware 7.05.
I have the similar setup except for the IPTV I am using homeplug as my TV is at ground floor, and my DIR-615 is at first floor. This post has been edited by auronthas: Sep 14 2010, 11:00 PM |
