QUOTE(Acrisius @ Oct 24 2010, 04:32 PM) I was converted from Streamyx 4Mbps package to Unifi. My contract still remaining a year. Firstly, I am being told me that it was impossible to change or terminate while you were under the contract in TMPoint. Anyhow I managed to discuss with them, and they let me to terminate 4Mbps and sign for Unifi package. I am trying to let them know that, I terminate that 4Mbps in order to upgrade my line to Unifi. I am not terminate the 4Mbps without any reasons or straight away cut all the tides with TM. It was similar situation that if I was trying to upgrade my package from 1Mbps to 4Mbps. You can move to Unifi from Streamyx anytime, you are just subject to new 2 years contract like any other Unifi user. This has been the case since Unifi was publicly available. Most likely you were served by new TMpoint staff who did not know about this.At last they approved my application. But, I think it will be more wise if you step to nearest TMPoint and ask for information. As you knew, every TMPoint have their own path of doing things. Just to let you know I able to do it. |

QUOTE(chanmickey @ Oct 27 2010, 06:04 PM) I just discovered some shocking facts about Unifi when I received my first bill today. All 1300 numbers usage is chargeable for Unifi and TM fixed line phones. The Streamyx number is also a 1300 number. But you gotta admit, paying 4sen/minute to call Unifi to complain about their service will certainly send the bill skyrocketing! Under "usage" there were some charges categorised as "SPECIAL NUMBERS/OTHERS". When I called the Unifi numbers at 1-300-88-1221 and 1-300-88-1222 to ask what are these special numbers that I am charged, I was shocked when told that it was the same 2 aforementioned numbers among others! That means whenever you call the above 2 Unifi numbers you are charged by the minute. When you call them to complain about their Unif service etc, you are charged! When you call for trouble-shooting, you are charged! etc etc Not only that, when I asked why there are no itemised billing, they say it is available at rm8/month. Whoa! Alternatively you can have the details emailed to you but you have to request every month. And when you request do not call the 1300 numbers of you will be charged again. How devious of Telekom Malaysia! All Telcos have a toll-free number when you as their customer can call to complain, made enquiries etc. for whcih you are not charged, example Maxis 123 Digi 0162211800 etc I believe a lot of people out there are not aware of this fact and cleverly calling them thinking it is free when it is not I think somebody should bring this up to the Press and highlight what Telekom is doing. They are not providing a toll-free number but expect you to pay when you call them to complain about their service etc. Maybe the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission can take up this matter. |

QUOTE(denver @ Nov 10 2010, 06:12 PM) My first Unifi bill just arrived. Seems that we can't pay using Citibank online yet. The only way to pay via online is by using maybank2u. Didn't see my name retrieved when I paid, have yet to see this behaviour with any bill registration/payment on M2U, only for MBB banking accounts. Payment went through fine, no issues. When I used maybank2u, selected "Telekom Malaysia Berhad - Unifi", keyed in my Unifi account number and click continue, I was informed by Unifi Call centre that my name should appear under my account number (i.e. Maybank2u will verify my account and display the name of the account holder) before I click Confirm. But for some reason, my name does not appear, just my account number. Have you paid your Unifi bill using Maybank2u? After you have keyed in your account number, does your name (i.e. the account holder's name) appear underneath the Account number? |

QUOTE(techi5 @ Nov 21 2010, 11:48 PM) i'm a freaking proud vip20 user! 2 most important factors, this is TM we are talking about, and you are not really running a speedtest, you are actually running a benchmark of your connection speed. You are not in control of all variables, variation in results is very normal.next test 19. another test 16. then back to 23. why speed not constant one? anyone same wit me? |

QUOTE(vyzc @ Nov 22 2010, 11:40 PM) Experiencing poor performance with UniFi in Bandar Sri Damansara as well. Web pages are loading very slowly and HTTP downloads are running at < 100 kB/s on VIP5. Had this issue too, pings to US around 1s and low downloads. Restarted router and things are back to normal. It has been going on for the past few nights. Performance in the daytime seems okay though. What's up, TM? Added on November 23, 2010, 1:52 am QUOTE(klseet @ Nov 22 2010, 02:23 PM) It has been quite sometime didn't access this forum since my RB750 been running perfectly so far, hope I didn't miss out any interesting topics Do you know if there's any chance that they will also customise the firmware for other models?Anywhere, just an update that soon there will be a replacement for DIR-615 on retail market! Recently by chance I met the TP-Link MY+SG sales manager, we talk a bit on routers and when we talk about UniFi topic (especially on the DIR-615 problem), he immediately offer to pass me a beta test unit TL-841ND http://www.tp-link.com/products/productDet...odel=TL-WR841ND They have actually customised a special firmware for UniFi to have both vlan.500 & 600 tagging on it, my initial test on my 5MB Huawei BTU seem to be very encouraging: [attachmentid=1898020] [attachmentid=1898021] I have yet to test out IPTV and WiFi, so far it seem like I'm the only end-user to test out the unit, been busy lately .... Since I'm not that technical enough, would really appreciate any sifu here can let me know on what else need to be tested, telnet to check or whatever need to be improved on the firmware. TP-Link developer has committed to work & support all the way, their main purpose is to allow consumers to have flexibility in choosing/replacing UniFi routers. According to him, once the beta firmware tested & confirmed ok, they will release it on their official website solely for Malaysia UniFi users. Later users can either buy the product and update the firmware, they may also release a pre-pack package for UniFi Malaysia. This post has been edited by charymsylyn: Nov 23 2010, 01:52 AM |
