So far Unifi is working great. Speed is very consistent though. Hope you guys are getting the same too.

that what they said to me at first place, then i complain to them " don't you perform site visit first?" they told me they have no budget for that..lol.

They just look at the network infra in their blueprint which didn't mention that distance between the house that going to install unifi. Another thing bro what ever account you have register with Unifi previously they will not process it. They need to re register back and i don't know why especially the account name and also phone number smile.gif just a head up.

Really??I'll give them a week..BTW 1 of the staff who talk to my aunt pass her personal no for feedback..I guess it's better then need to call tm and ask for that fella in charge..

Very hard to tell nationwide quality unless 80% of unifi subscribers do and publish speed test regularly

i am using pfsense btw...

still waiting for my unifi but the box is ready and testing with my screamyx. so far even with 20000 (site+p2p) connection non of it drop during heavy p2p (testing website with like 100 thumbs each and 20+++ tabs).

as for QOS... not ready to deploy yet. but i plan to control it according to ip and port based. and every "registered" machine should have fair share when every one is rampaging the bandwidth. one of the idea to minimize ping with mmorpg is to reserve 5~10% of your bandwidth for spike handling and set the mmorpg server to high priority.
*
hahaha..my clearOS box is also up and running with bandwidth throttling based on IP..2 main users are allocated a huge portion of the bandwidth..while the remaining ones are given the remaining share...so far so good..but every once in a while, some modules tend to lock up and get screwed up... laugh.gif

i just got my unifi installed yesterday! I'm loving it~~ Download speeds are amazing!! Downloaded an 800MB file in less than 25minutes! I used to have a streamyx 1MB plan which was horrible... Speeds didn't even reach 700kbps! It was always around 500-600 only...

I have a question, I'm no techie... haha... Can I switch off my unifi modem and that white tall unit when not in use? Don't wanna waste energy and I'm worried that they might overheat...

You will need a fast download server in order to download fast.
Or BT.

Some of those http download site only gives max like 5Mbps download per file only.
That is only for very few of them.
Most of them are capped at 2Mbps or 3Mbps.

go to https://occ.unifi.my/HSBBCustomerPortal/HSB...erPortal.portal

and then manage your account or myUnifi to remove/change your IPTV subscriptions.

just a question, i'm not using the iptv service at all, so by default the myunifi setting doesn't cost any monthly charges unless i subscribe to a channel that need to be paid, am i right?

yep, no extra payments needed if you did not subscibe to any of the paid channels. you only need to pay the VIP package that you're on.

Actually the HTTP download sites that can surpass 2/3/5Mbps are many...

My internet bandwidth is 7.2Mbps yet I have reached 7.44Mbps downloads... while some sites can reach 3Mbps but the average speed is low.

I know what you mean. My dlink is giving me headaches as well. I've been trying to solve it and even had the unit exchanged, to no avail. I've resigned to getting my own wifi router and turning the dlink into a VLAN switch using rizvanrp's guide. I'm just saving up for the router now.
