This is more interesting on what Ichigo's old sword Zangetsu are made of. Now we know that Zambatou are made for shinigami since they entered the society and after lots of training only the zambatou will use the users riatsu and transformed into something useful. But for Ichigo's case, he never received any Zambatou from Rukia. So what was that then??

I don't know why. This manga Bleach doesn't seems to have an overall planning and plots. Unlike Naruto and One Piece(doesn't need to have much plots).
