bro, just bought my HD2 few days ago from a forumer. Using Desire Froyo 2.2 NAND rom.

Before i get this phone, i saw how flexible it was on youtube and wiki. It is one of the few phone that could boot mutiple os.

Get the phone now, and tried it myself. Love it very much but found one major draw back of this phone.

Low internal memory. My memory is around 20mb only after installing few app.
Try to move those apps to SDcard with App2SD Free. But it seem like it was not completely move, it still consume 1mb-2mb on internal memory. I donno why.

I followed a tutorial on the net to set app install on SD card on default. now my Apps can automatically installed on SDcard but it still consume space on internal rom. So I still can't find a solution to solve this low memory disadvantage.

Anyone have solution for this? please advice...thx everyone.

great ICS report andy,
Iv test the MIUI  SGS2 theme you mention, its very convincing when the boot animation also shows Galaxy S animation, thanks for the head up

miraclejustin
What rom version have u put there ? isit sense or non Sense rom? the built in memory HD2 is 512mb rom, used Cynogen or MIUI rom which consume less than 200MB of your internal rom.
back from holidays & happy 2012 as well
*
yes, it with sense. Flashed by previous owner. I just use it less than a week..lol. Whn i received the phone, it only have internal 114mb with 40mb free.

I read on wiki said global HD2 only have 448mb available for use, cause it reserve 128mb for graphic.
U stated MIUI or cynogen rom consume less than 200MB, which mean I still got 248mb to use?

follow andyjyneo instruction by "move and rebuild" dalvik cache to SD-EXT.
However i did't use Gparted to build EXT4, i used cwm buildin partition manager to build EXT3. Is ext3 ok?

It's ok either way. Normally they use CWM build-in partition manager is to create partitions for Data2SD.
Most ROMs support EXT3, but some ROMs support EXT4.

Happy flashing and enjoy!

bro, do you have problem running facebook apps in NDT MIUI v5.0?
The application keep hang when login and ask for sync. I have to take out the battery everytime.

btw, I felt the MIUI camera a little shady compare to my previous desire froyo with sense rom. Gatta try more rom to tell the difference. What are you guys thought on "HyperDroid-CM7" rom? what are the advantages and limitations?

I dislike the dark theme from HyperDroid.
If you ask me about CM7, I would prefer NDT GINGER SERIES.
If you want MIUI, I strongly recommend you NDT MIUI.

Comparison between CM7 and MIUI, I'll go for MIUI. Why I love MIUI?
1. When browsing WAP sites, CM7 tends to zoom out. Each and every time,, I've to manually zoom in. After setting to super large fonts, also pointless.
2. Pop-up when SMS arrives. I can reply easily. I know we can install extra app for this, but since MIUI has built-in for this, why not?
3. Name of company appears in contact list. I love this. I can enter my contacts name, and differentiate them by company name. For example, 2 Hassan bin Ali in my contacts. So which Hassan is plumber, and which Hassan is salesman?

Just flashed my hd2 to hyperdroid cm7. really fast rom, with really small dpi. it really make the phone look like tablet. But it is a bare rom, which mean it only have the basic. No FB, no youtube, no gmail..almost empty.

Unlike NDT MIUI which have everything set and done, ready to go. In MIUI, I have the App2SDGUI, which allow me to move and rebuild my dalvic cache, completely saving my internal storage from getting full.

But I couldn't find the apps in market. Is it possible for me to own both hyperdroid and "NDT MIUI version of App2SDGUI"?

If you want GApps like Gmail, Youtube, Facebook, so on and so forth, very easy. Just download "Market Enabler" (the icon is Market icon with lots of flags) from Market and emulate your SIM to T-Mobile (if I'm not mistaken, the code is 51026). Then load Market again. From there, you can download each and every respective GApps.

As for A2SD, almost all HD2 ROMs are A2SD-enabled. Some of them have A2SD script installed, but doesn't have A2SDGUI. So just download it from Market too (Find A2SDGUI, not App2SDGUI). From there, you can move and rebuild your Dalvik Cache to SD-EXT.
*
Thx, i found the apps in market. Installed but unable to proceed, it gives possible 3 reason : 1. phone unroot, 2. no EXT partition, 3. no a2sd script install.

the application already get superuser permission, and I made the ext partion dy, checked and comfirm with diskusage. So only possible is no a2sd script install. How to do that?

But I read in hyperdroid post said a2sd script already preinstall and run automatically as long as there are ext partition.

One think i notice about hyperdroid is the battery life. It lasts longer than usual.

enCORe
thx smile.gif actually, I don't need all of the Gapps, i just need FB, gmail, and youtube. I found them on the market.

1st: Did you partition your SD card to EXT3?
2nd: If yes, try to restart a several times.
3rd: If still the same, download here and flash like how you flash your ROM.
4th: If no luck, Install "terminal emulator" from Market. Try to type "a2sd install" into it and let us know the result.

Added on January 11, 2012, 5:13 pmMIUI guys, good news! MIUI has ported ICS to HD2. Check this out. First ever MIUI ROM based on 4.0.3.
*
it wrote permission denied.
I also found out many apps didn't support hyperdroid. like Viber, it show not compatible with my phone in market, im not allowed to dl it. Look like hyperdroid isn't perfect enuf.

anyone tried ICS MIUI? can it be use as everyday rom?

Sorry for missing out the most important command.
You need to type "su" first in order to gain superuser access.
When prompt, tick "remember" and "allow".
After that, only you type "a2sd install" without quotes.
It wrote a2sd not found..XD.
Im thinking of flashing back to NDT MIUI. Is there anyway to backup my current rom and setting. I have installed alot software and game, some in internal memory, some in SD card. Can i backup everything? and restore them?

It's not recommended to backup apps and settings. You'll encounter FCs after you restore your apps to different ROMs.
*
so is that a way we can install the script?

actually i mean backup my current rom+setting+apps. then i can try more rom n flash back to current rom when i want. just like windows version of ghost backup.

so guys. Is there any stable ICS rom for HD2?

andyjyneo, ur HD2 spoiled? i saw people selling new one with warranty at 600 if not mistaken. But if u are getting another phone, i think better get dual core nvidia terga with 1GB ram phone. That is the future.
