QUOTE(benny888 @ Sep 22 2010, 07:39 AM) Froyo delayed, latest update and quote from : http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/21/samsung...r-late-october/ arggghh delay again. by the time this comes out. WP7 is already out bahh! Samsung's indicated in the past that all versions of its ubiquitous Galaxy S would be getting Froyo upgrades in harmony (more or less) -- and it had also indicated that those updates would be happening in September. Well, you know how these things tend to go: plans change, bugs crop up, engineers go on vacation at inopportune times, and delays happen. On that note, Samsung Mobile's Spanish division is now saying that the Galaxy S will be getting Froyo in "late October" through the Kies desktop app, though we don't know whether España speaks for the rest of the world -- it's entirely possible that this is a Spain-specific announcement. More on this one as we get it, but for now, we wouldn't count on many (if any) of these bad boys getting official updates in the next few days. QUOTE(Star_knight79 @ Sep 28 2010, 03:49 PM) My firmware is the earliest stock firmware. And I have problem connect to Kies. So, dunno how to update my firmware. Of course I don't want to root my device cause I'm no good at doing that. Don't want to take the risk. one click root.. check the universal droidroot ..no need hacking and no riskhttp://software2tech.com/2010/08/10/androi...e-for-download/ |

QUOTE(jangyelo @ Sep 29 2010, 08:02 AM) Its true. My sgs has 41% battery life now but the battery icon at the notification bar shows more than half full. Thats why i have installed "Battery Indicator" It shows a small battery icon at notification bar with % left and you can even set when you want the colour to change from green to red. Plus they claim that it doesnt use any more battery life cause it just reports what the android os reports. i hope this will be fixed in froyo! |

just wanting to share that SGS got an award
for EISA European Best Smartphone 2010-2011 Based on the Android operating system, the Galaxy S is a ‘jewel in the crown’ for demanding users wanting to be connected, entertained and updated on the move. It is equipped with a huge 4-inch (10.16 cm) AMOLED, 800x480 pixel touch screen providing an exceptional viewing experience. The on-board 5 megapixel camera is without flash, but with video recording of 720p. Interconnectivity brings together Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi with DLNA, a hotspot function and AllShare which allows content to be shared between the mobile and Samsung TVs and Blu-ray players. It’s a well made device that should capture the attention of every mobile phone lover. QUOTE(gajahwhite @ Oct 1 2010, 01:34 AM) the only GPS issue is need wait for a long time to get the signal.. and sometime wrong location if not mistaken.. I never try GPS thingy yet.. thanks for the help guys:D yeah cuz it only says that the 3g and internet is setup, didnt say about the MMS from maxis ..but there's some solution where you can find on previous page post by SGS user.. so far.. I'm using the 720x480 for the record, but also try 1280x720 before, work fine, good quality also.. about the MMS, usually the APN setting will automatic detect the setup for MMS setting. That's normal.. will try the HD recording tmrw and the gps. The AGPS you guys using Googlemap? papago is good for the proper GPS system? or its good enough just by using googlemap for now? and wait till froyo comes in(since it takes a long time to lock the satelite)? |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Oct 1 2010, 02:18 AM) Froyo would be available soon. For current devices to get beyond Froyo is not likely but is a bonus if they do so. i feel your pain with my omnia 2. bought with WM6.5 and now its dead.thats the end of it.I am pessimistic after living with 2 WM PDA from HTC with no official updates. |
