So I have a 3G icon on top after activating internet service... and it is still there after I stopped using the internet... Just that it turns gray, that means it's not data roaming/wasting my money right?

P/S: I still see it blinking once in a while, just not on all the time.... and APNDroid is useless, can't even turn it off, I've also disabled the data roaming option in Mobile Network... I can still connect with 3g sweat.gif

I still see the icon blinking once in a while... I'm thinking if it's some software connecting to the internet to get updates or some auto sycn function... Is there anyway to turn it completely off sweat.gif Later Digi charges me

Weird, after I added APN, the 3G icon is no longer there and I can't use 3G service anymore... it's only usable when I don't have any APN on the list

Er, you need to on it again if you want to use.

That means I have to contact Digi again?

No, as in, once you put the APN onoff widget, APN is ON.
Press it and it goes OFF.
Then if you want to use, press it and it goes ON again.

If you want to uninstall it, make sure it is ON.

What firmware are you on?
JF4 seems to have problems with APN onoff, APNdroid, APNonoff and etc with name changing APN apps.

I got kinda confused on these 3G stuff since I barely use such service...

Just now I suddenly feel like using 3G so I checked out Digi website and did an online activation... Digi then just sent an configuration message to me with tons of code(did not ask me to save setting or anything, I just received it like normal message) and right after that the blue 3G icon appeared... I didn't even have any APN on the list(I'm sure)

Then I started to wonder, what's APN for? I went on to add APN according to first page DiGi APN info and right after that the 3G icon just disappeared in few seconds

Whatever they sent you was to configure the APN (access point name).

The APN onoff , is used to turn on/off the data connection, so your phone won't 'accidentally' send out or receive data.

It is a local service with nothing to do with digi or any other carrier.

I know they sent me APN setting, the thing is, I can't see any on the APN list when I check it and that time, the 3G is already working fine

Here comes the weird thing, how did 3G work without APN on the list?

Does the APN On/Off turn off internet except wifi completely? Means that you cannot go surf the net when it shows OFF?

I tried APNdroid and APN Onoff but even when I set these two to off, when I use something that needs the internet the 3G still runs

I'm not using both. I mean both didn't work out for me.

When if switch off 3G with either of them, it will still work when I go use internet-related application/market... Is it supposed to work that way?

Or when it's switched off, then you won't be able to use it for whatever purpose already?

You can try calibrating the battery by doing the following:

Prerequisite:
Clockworkmod Recovery installed.

1) With your phone on, get your battery charged to 100%.
2) Unplug the charger and turn off your phone.
3) Plug in the charger and have it charged to 100%.
4) Boot into recovery mode -> reinstall package -> advanced -> wipe battery stats.
5) Reboot your phone and continue using.

My phone battery improved A LOT after doing this.

Charge your battery when it's about 30-50%... discharging it fully harms the Lithium-Ion battery. Discharge it fully only once every 30 charge cycles or if you don't wanna do that, you can just boot into recovery and wipe battery stats.

Nope.. you don't need Clockworkmod Recovery for that. What you need just Root and Terminal Emulator.

The steps I've taken:-
1) Using Terminal Emulator, remove the /data/system/batterystats.bin
2) Turn off the phone and charge till full (the battery symbol fully green)
3) Turn on the phone and charge till 100% full.

And yes, the result is good. I still have half of battery after 1 and 1/2 day usage include about 45 minutes Papago GPS and normal network, facebook and game.
There are tons of way to remove the battstats.bin, I just use the more common way since I think almost everyone got Clockworkmod installed... and I think the real way should be charging the phone to full while it's ON first... Source: xda

Shit I regret so much on my GadgetShieldz purchase. I'd suggest you guys not to be fooled by the low price.

1) Not big enough to cover the screen/back cover fully.
2) Smudges easily seen after light usage.
3) Screen looks wavy/wrinkly after applying the shield.
4) The shield is draggy and it makes swyping unfavorable.
5) Last but not least, the screen protector has SCRATCHES after two week of light usage... wtf?

Therefore I my advice to you new owners hunting for SP: say no to GadgetShieldz.

Spend another few bucks instead and get the Realook ultra clear SP... Tons of good reviews as screen protector for Galaxy S. $10.99 + $3.10 shipped to Malaysia from Amazon. What's best about this thing is it comes in a FULL package with everything you need to install the shield: the alcohol/screen cleaning cloth/manual and best part of all - 2 SETS. So it's actually cheaper if you split the price up when compared to GadgetShieldz sweat.gif

That ZenusCase looks pretty damn cool but the price is pretty damn high as well... Going for $40 and that's without the shipping fees

Part of the chrome is left unprotected... for that price.
