I haven't turn it on yet.

The reason i'm worried is that might be an indication that the box been opened before, for whatever reason.

I'll turn it on tonight after i finish work.

This time i might not wanna try the OCLF cause Froyo is due to come to UK next week. Will wait first smile.gif

Can, not that you'll notice that much of a difference from a class 6 or 4.

Why are you guys so concerned about some synthetic benchmark?
Do a more practical test by just loading all your 7 homescreens with "feeds and updates" samsung widget, beautiful widget, facebook for android, twitter for android, engadget widget. Then swipe through all 7 screens. And whatever other widget that you can find. And see if it lags, if it doesn't then that's what we really want.

if it gets choppy, whatever synthetic benchmark score doesn't mean a thing.

Sent in my galaxy to samsung centre plaza singapore at 1130am
got set back flash original fw at 3pm same day. Best of all is free as set under warranty.
They did not even ask for warranty card only check serial no.
So will be busy again flashing newer Roms

Yes, as i expected. Bricked phone, no point for them to start pointing fingers.
Cause if you said it just happened like that after you took it out of your pocket, they also can't do anything. So might as well just smile at us and replace a unit. lol.. No point arguing, cause if it's under warranty, just get the job done and move on.

I do realise that often, asian companies in general are hesitant to 'replace' things even during warranty, the staff act like they own the company. Whereas in western companies, reputation and customer satisfaction usually comes first. And staff don't really care that much as long as the customer walks out smiling. Besides, to them, $$ gone, its the company that directly bears it. Doesn't really matter cause the less the customer screams at them, the better anyways.

you went to which service centre?
The one at causeway point has 3 counters only, but then again, that service centre is quite quiet. So even with 3 counters, service is usually fast.

I am still using the ultra crystal, the oleo i have still in the packaging.

Very clear, can't see that I have it on the screen.
Oil wipes away okayish. Wiping with shirt clears it off and I can see the screen. Slight oil streaks left.

It really seems like theres nothing on the screen. And if that's what you want, then it's the SP for you. Crystal clear super amoled goodness.

I never saw ultra crystal so i cant comment but the ultra oleophobic really clear & quite good to prevent fingerprint. 1 thing to complain is the size of the sp is slightly smaller than the screen.
*
It is slightly smaller, but most cases that cover the chrome bezel will cover the edges. So no lifting.
Been using it with SGP case for almost 2 months. No issues at all.

Works fine, got it on since day 1 that I got the case. Hasn't peeled or anything.
Btw, the SP and lens protector are not 'sticky' because it is using non adhesive silicone to prevent any residue to be left on the screen if you remove it.

Hi guys...Just wanna know once i install an app, where does it get installed to? Internal memory or internal sd? If it's in the internal memory, why does the folders appear in the "My Files" app? And how do i view what's in my internal memory?
*
The ROM part.
Folders are there cause the app created them?

Internal memory (ROM) view - you need root explorer.

No, those are folders created by the app to store data/cache.

So if you reinstall the app in the future after you wipe your phone, you still retain those cache.

Really? Is it easy to install? Can I remove it whenever I like?
To root on 2.1, just do the update.zip recovery method, takes 3 minutes max.

To remove, it is better to just flash the phone.
But I think the oneclicklagfix app on market has root and unroot function.

go to market, download OCLF
Or voodoo, the link is somewhere in this forum.

OCLF is easier to implement, but not as effective.
Voodoo is faster, but doesn't work for 2.2

What will happens to too much apps installed on my SGS?
I got 7 pages of apps, totalling 7x16 = 112. Going on to the 8th page, barely one month of usage..
*
I used to have 10 pages, before I flashed my fw again.
But I was on JG8, with OCLF, no lag.
