and also abit inaccurate when i use it with papago.... with motonav it was more accurate but motonav maps outdated and hard to use...

I hope not.....

Honestly... Desire is better than SGS ... and im an SGS user


1st of all, the desire arrays of buttons is physical unlike SGS which features capacitive button .... Im not saying capacitive button is bad but i often pressed the back button by mistake because it is so touch sensitive..

2nd, the overall outlay of SGS feels like an iPhone4 ... not unique at all.. and the back cover is a serious pain in the ass cause it attracts oil and finger prints very easily... whenever i hold it for long it feels like a greasy bick..

3rd, the SGS gave an overall bad users experiance out of the box... the GPS is useless as hell and the after sales service is just killing the users. (Rumours after rumours of froyo till i got fed up... late july then august then 23rd september.. FULL of BS man!!!) ... it seriously giving you the impression that there might not even going to update to froyo.. and fix the problems..


Easier said.... SGS out of the box never lives up to its full potential.... it might state the High-end spec that it have ... but it never been fully utilised yet.. and now the phone is just like any other 1GHZ phone without the lag fix...

so for now... you cant actualy compare between the phones .... SGS might win in the S-AMOLED ... but Desire wins with its physical buttons and UI..


Overall, i would say its a Draw between SGS and Desire.....

2. what you mean by WAAAYYyy?? HTC desire is already updated to 2.2 .... both is equal as multi-touch doesnt seem to indicate much ... both running 1GHZ also...(Bare in mind Galaxy S is currently having lag issues somore)

8. I prefer holding the Desire... at least it have a solid feel... the 15g isnt that much to be considered as heavy
9. It seems like a draw to me when i put the SGS with my fren desire next to each other running the same game..


Overall .... there are 4 agreeable factors.. (close to your 5x better opinion)


But Desire has its pros to counter back too..

1. Physical Buttons...
2. Higher RAM
3. Solid build
4. a cool UI that doesnt make your phone looks like an iphone ripoff
5. cheaper than the galaxy S
6. Better GPS .. (God damn.. i almost wanted to throw my SGS when the desire locked on to GPS already and the SGS still blinking that shit icon)

I left out an after-sales service factor because i dont know if it could be considered since desired firmware updates seems promising with constant customer update on the upcoming firmware.



As for now... the Desire actualy IS a better option... having 2 extra factors which is an advantage over the galaxy S.. But as far as i know, when the new firmware for Galaxy S is out.... it would definately beat the crap out of the Desire in terms of performance in anyway...


I dont know if i regret choosing the galaxy S anot... but i dont have a choice right now since i already bought it (and i dont want to sell it off just to buy a new desire... then... the value of it wouldn't be there anymore)



I just hope Samsung give a promising FIX and Updates on the Firmwares also giving the end users their froyo within the specific time frame....

Who knows?? when samsung finaly comes out with froyo.... others already using gingerbread....

8. Solid feel as in .. when you hold the phone in your hand... it feels nice and solid... The SGS backcover and sides realy feels greasy after holding it awhile.... and the back of phone would never stay clean...

4. I dont know about the launcherPro thingy... issit an app? or do you need to root the phone... honestly, i wouldn't root my phone at all (void warranty, scare brick etc)... When i buy a Product... i expect it to behave as what the manufacturer wants you to or else its not what im buying for in the first place...
(It's kind of an unfair comparison if you want to bring "Rooting" in ..... "Rooting" isn't part of the feature from the manufacturer anyway... i would expect samsung to give us the option to choose ... then i would say its a fair compartison)
5. Thats why the price point still goes to the desire .. those are the pros i added in to the SGS anyway..

Oh yea and i notice you enable Wifi GPS..... try disabling it... see if you get the same results..

SGS is definately better than the Desire .. but not for now... waiting for the firmware update bro...

Define "Can use" ...


Can yours lock GPS in less than 10sec with less than 50 Accuracy all the time like pcboy??

Or you are suffering like me where the GPS locks whenever it feels like it but you thought that is normal because it still works..
