ok i checked out starcraft wiki but it doesn't give me much clue...

Zerg's broodlord is flyign unit and thus has the flying unit attack upgrade from greater spire. But the thing is after it launch the poor broolings to target, I click on the broodling it shows they're using ground attack.

So my confuse is, in order to get our broodLord stronger, is to upgrade ground unit attack or air unit attack !? Also when the brooling flies and hit the target, does it do any damage?

I believe ... not sure

what you spat out = air
after those spread into broodlings = melee

so u need both ground and air

Basically when it shoots from air, you benefit from air upgrades (from Spire)

When the broodling spawns and attack, these broodlings benefit from the upgrades via Evolution Chamber.

So if you have upgraded both air and ground atk, your Broodlords become much more powerful in dishing out damage.

Does it means when broodlord launch the broodling, broodling DOES DAMANGE when they bang on the target (air upgrade)? And after that they start biting the target on ground, it benefit from ground attack upgrade?

ya when it attack(the broodlord) do 20 damage(more if upgraded) each time to the target, and the ammo is broodlings, those broodlings deal additional damage until it get destroyed or expired, so basically it do more than just 20 damage(unless they got killed instantly).
So the broodlord is a very powerful unit, it create broodlings every attack, it deal damage 1st upon landing and while those broodlings flying to the target they are invulnerable, then the broodlings do extra damage. and your enemy will have to spend time killing those broodlings, keeping them busy, your broodlord can survive much longer.

No wonder ppl always says broodlord is the most powerful air to ground unit, mroe than battle cruiser and carriers. Too bad I seldom got chance to morph them in multiplayer...

should only consider using it in multiplayer if your enemy seal themselves in, turret/cannon the entire base, do not use it on experienced player, they are too late, slow moving, expensive and cant vs air, but its extremely good against thor !!

well u only will be able to use them if u are planning to use them b4 the game start...else it's hard to consider them cause usually after u get hive...u can js go ultra or mass hydra or cracklings which is cheaper n faster too...

other than the case js like narf03 said, your opponent turtling n u can't find any hole to break into his base...then u'll consider broodlords due to their long range...

In Free For All games, most players will often turtle first to defend from random rushes. Back minerals will normally be guarded by cannon/turret/spores. These guys outrange them and just 2 broodlord will be sufficient in breaking into their base. Support it with corruptors, you get the best air to ground and air to air units.

One may argue that the mutalisks can be massed by the time you tech into broodlords and they do just about the same job. Mutalisks will require more micro to be able to deal dmg because of their short range and constantly requiring to kite units.

In a 1v1 league game, most games dont last long till you tech to broodlords due to the upgrades required, hive, greater spire, morphing. You are better off with mass hydralisks since they are so powerful in mass vs air and ground.

broodlords do full damage to thor, plus they create broodlings, thor do half damage to broodlords, due to broodlord consider as armored unit, and in a fair fight, ie 3 broodlords vs 3 thors(1v1 or 2v2), broodlords will always win with outstanding result, only with 1 exception, many broodlords vs many thors and all broodlords are stack together, cause thor can do area damage, if they split out, broodlords will win. default damage for thor vs broodlord should be 6 minus off the armor of broodlord, which left 5 per attack, and broodlord do 20 minus off armor which means 19 per attack plus broodlings. if broodlings didnt get killed(concentrate fire on broodlords), they can do like 10-12 extra attack b4 it dies which is 4(?) damage per attack.

just a disclaimer.. the above assumption is correct provided that there is no SCV repairing those Thors constantly..

like what happened in one of my game.. my 2 broodlord died cause the one Thor has tons of SCV repairing him!
