I've already done powder coating for all the internal parts now left the external parts, the 2 side windows, the top and bottom only. Since it has paint on it, i had to remove it first.

See the internal parts here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1546673

Got the chemical from my cousin who is a jobber. He didn't say its name but gave me the brush on type. Apparently there is 2 types, brush on and the other is immersion which you need a tank. Don't bother trying those paint remover from the hardware shop, i've wasted 30 bucks from 3 diff shop with 3 diff brands.

I don't know the name yet, my cousin will check for me. he got it from a supplier - a sample bottle and he gave that to me. It's a thick cloudy solution, not smelly. It was labeled as 171. Just finished the 2 side panels. Will be posting the images in a jiffy biggrin.gif Will let u know once i get the name and msds for the chemical.

These are the remaining images. The front side window panel was a bit tough to remove, i guess they had a protective layer on top and the shiny letters of HAF. Still managed to remove all, next stop Powder Coating biggrin.gif

It was ok, not so hard. Just apply on, wait for it to blister and peel, apply again till all the paint is removed and clean the surface. I bet it's much more faster if you use the immersion method. Mine was the brush on. Took about 2 days to finish, about 4 hrs a day. biggrin.gif

The whole case including my DVD-ROM covers and the steel logo - RM 186.00. Let me know early, can get group discounts biggrin.gif. I need to send my modders mesh too. Just need to finish bending and shaping it first.

It sure looks nice with Black rivets, got it from MDPC-X.

The side panel that you see above is the right side panel, i used waterjet cutting service, the main side panel window is slightly bigger and i cut that myself, used jigsaw and the cutting line was not straight. So, when i went to fabricate my logo, i asked the guy favor and he did it for me biggrin.gif. It took less than 5 minutes biggrin.gif

waterjet cutting can cut weird designs? i have a design, not so hard for waterjet. but quite hard to cut using rotaries or jigsaw. want to find easier cutting techniques. how much ehh?

Yup, i believe waterjet cutting can cut weird designs, waterjet can cut almost anything and any thickness which laser cut can't do. The difference that i see is, when you cut transparent acrylic, laser cut will leave a smooth transparent edge on the cutting area whereas the waterjet will leave a non-transparent cloudy surface. For metal and complicated designs, i would prefer waterjet.

Ever since started to use waterjet, i seem to forgot my jigsaw skills..LOL. For the big window and the blowhole cost me RM60.00. A bit pricy for a 5 min job but it was a precision cut biggrin.gif. I guess would be a lot cheaper, if you can write the CNC Gcodes for them, or give them the ED in autocad or ai.
