Hi girls, need advice regarding hair dyes in the market. What are the best hair dyes you've used? Mind to list down shades and brand (and price hehe) you've used and how well they work?

I bought a tube of Schwarzkopf IGORA Royal hair colour (intense violet) because according to the salesperson, it has the most intensive colour and it'll work fine even if I don't bleach my hair. Anyone tried this before? Is it good? It was an impulse purchase as I've just gotten my salary. brows.gif

Anything that I should take note of before and after dyeing my hair?

Thank you all so much.

Can try Color Creation (Dark Brown, Mahagony, Burgundy, Auburn Red). It is made from organic contents and also good for those having sensitive hair scalp. Won't have those 'tingling' feeling when dye is applied on your hair smile.gif

When dyeing your hair, try split it into sections and apply the dye from back bottom section towards the crown, inside out.

After dyeing hair, advisable not to use anti-dandruff shampoo as such shampoo contains ZPT, which would strip off the hair color. Try wait for one week before using such shampoo after dyeing hair

Thanks all for the feedback. Ok, so I got the Schwarzkopf Igora Royal Intense (shade 9-998) at RM30, it's a very bright violet, sales person told me that because I have dark brown hair, it will look violety black after I dye but... it looks RED. Raspberry red! XDD The colour is intense and pretty though, surprised me because it doesn't contains bleach. :3

Anyways, my friend's aunt (who owns a salon) said that I should've done a strand test.

kMichelle: thanks for the lovely tips. :3 I'll try out Color Creations, have you tried those shades before? biggrin.gif

i have used gatsby natural bleach and beauteen's apricot mocha before. apricot mocha is too orangy-bronish on my hair.. haha! but i like the turned out result for natural bleach from gatsby. yup! it's a bleach but instead of using hi-bleach, i used natural bleach; hence it's not too blonde. i did this all on my own.

Hi oatkrunch, natural bleach huh? Meaning that it's milder than the conventional bleach? biggrin.gif

I was tempted to try out Beauteen but they don't have the shade I wanted (albeit having super adorable packaging illustrations by Ai Yazawa).

Have a question here, for the leftovers dye/bleach that are still in the bottle, are they usable next time? I was told that it's no longer effective after the bottle's being opened but I've also heard opposite comments.

it's not advisable to use the leftover as it might cause explosion under certain circumstances. so, we are advise to drain the leftover first before discarding it.

i am going to change my hair color again soon... and am going to try out liese hair bubble.

nautral bleach? nope it's equally damaging but natural bleach is not blonde. it's a really light brown. i need to deep condition my hair after doing that.

O_O wow... that's scary, I never knew that. Thanks for sharing though. :3

2 of my friends tried out Liese (or Prettia, I forgot) and were not happy with the outcome... they said that the colour isn't vibrant enough and it doesn't really show. Which shade are you trying out? biggrin.gif

oh, forgot to mention about the strand test. Usually strand test is recommended to predict how long to leave hair color on your hair. Coarse hair will generally takes longer time to absorb color while fine hair generally takes shorter time. Hair texture that is dry or permend may also absorb color quickly too. Hence, strand test is recommened smile.gif

ya, I've tried Color Creations Mahagony wub.gif It is RM38.

Someone taught me about choosing the right color before smile.gif If your skin is pink flush type, choose ash tones to neutralise the color. If your complexion is pale, try deep reds or burgundy. If your skin is ivory color, can choose any color thumbup.gif

now you know; hence don't ever try that. what you can do is, to mix a part of it in a bowl or container and keep the rest (unmix). but if you have mix the entire bottle, then discard the leftover.. if it's unmix yet, you can prolly keep it.

i plan to try chiffon beige
