I would personally recommend sea pearl lagoon cafe for crabs (fresh and affordable), place is a bit tedious to find but do ask along as you go by, those seafood eateries at gurney are at tourist-price (cut throat), no, i am not saying they are bad or so, just that we can find something cheaper but above par or at least, on par with the quality.

I've found a review here:

Tried Chin's fine dining and quite like it though expensive. The deep fried duck with chili padi is something new after years of eating peking duck. The cod fish + prawn + raw egg (mix and cook in a hot pot) is also nice but again pricey. For starter the cucumber with garlic is also gooding.

Also tried line clear nasi kandar - lost my appetite when i line up and seeing how they cook, dirty, expensive, crowded and most importantly - taste like just another nasi kandar.

What is Penang style Hokkien Char?
do you mean the one with yellow noddle and bee hoon without the thick black sauce?

You can get some nice ones at the following places:

1) the cafe right beside 888 hokkien mee at Lebuh Presgrave
2) the hawker center right opposite to Penang Chinese Girl School
3) the corner cafe at Reservoir Garden, Air Itam, check out their fried tofu too

Hope this helps smile.gif

Any good food court that could cover almost every local food at night? Average standard to be ok ok lah at least although incomparable to the individual local delicacies cause will only be spending a night there so no time to cover every must-try local food.

Staying nearby times square area

I'm eager to try out some cafes at those refurbished heritage places
