Japan is a cool place... the people there are real nice... and their ethics deserve respect
My phD supervisor studied in Japan before, yes, language can be a problem, which is why you need to learn their language. There's also devices which help you more or less "communicate" with those who do not speak English~
Shouldn't be too hard a problem if you try hard

Well, it depends on what field TS is interested in... different places have different expertise
