I have a more simple method 
1. Download the ipsw file, refer from this site (http://www.ismashphone.com/2010/09/ios41-d...load-links.html) for the links
2. In your iTunes's iPhone page, press the left shift button + click on the "Restore" Button. A file selection screen pop-up will appear.
3. Select the .ipsw file that you download and wait for it to finish
