hmm.. im using SG set
at the beginning i quite dissatisfied with the battery life too
but later i found that it getting more lasting.
my phone can last for 2 days or more ( i switched off the 3G and Cellular data )
juz some sms, calling and little bit of gaming.
In standby mode it was like doesnt consume battery at all ( maybe few % only )
*I always make sure no apps running on the background.2

U gotta call Maxis to do it, u can't activate it your own self.

i did but they ask me do manually

So pretty much u cannot browse with your iPhone? U probably need to visit any maxis centre to let them see for themselves what is the problem and let them solve.

Tell them u can't browse...if u tell them u can't activate, they may thought you have not activated your iPhone4, and they ask you to do it on your own (connect to iTunes with simcard already inside and iTunes connected to internet)

sigh.. i explain it to them already.. but its not helping

Tried switched off n on your iPhone??

Go Settings>General>Network

Make sure Enable 3G is ON

Make sure Cellular Data is ON

That's all I can guide u....the rest need to see ur phone but too bad u're not in Penang...try getting assistance frm Maxis Ctr.

btw how do you know your data is not activated yet? and what plan you're on?

you need to give us proper details before we can start giving out suggestions give so little info how do you expect us to help you? If all you can give is "my data is not activate yet.. how do i do it", How do you expect even those Maxis guys to help you?

Are you in KL? then dont waste your time going to Maxis Center's they're are swamped with people who are in line to buy IP'4's go to one of their partner store's the MEP's

because of and on there is a pop up saying cant activate data something something.

so i did called up maxis centre.. they thought me but then its not clear

make sure maxis has activated your 3g services

i have my 3g actually.. but if like there is no wifi reception, i wanted to use my safari using my data they pop up saying cant activate my data

there's a very high chance its due to maxis side....iphone4 not much u need to set to get the data operational...in fact, there's none that I can recall.....

I don't think there's much help can do for u here....go to Maxis Centre n sought help there!

try checking under Settings>Network

Do you have your 3G set to ON all the time? What about Cellular Data is it set to ON all the time?

If you have 3G set to on all the time yes it does suck up alot of battery life, mine of 3G standby hours is around 16-18 hour under heavy usage, Games, calls, SMS, Web Surfing and on WIFI

If you have it on the EDGE network , this can be done by turning OFF the 3G and Cellular Data set to ON with that usage i can stretch it to 24-26 hours

If you have both 3G and EDGE (Cellular Data) turned off then, you'll see massive improvement on the battery life since none of the services will be running, I can get up to 2 days of standby with Games, SMS and phone calls


So my suggestion if you really want to save some batt is to, only turn on 3G when you're surfing the web when you dont have WIFI, if you are surfing on WiFI turn both 3G and EDGE off, same goes to before you go to bed . during the the day you can be on the EDGE network since it doesnt suck up much battery compared to when you're on 3G network

I am using Maxis iPhone 4, I have turn on the Cellular Data, enabled 3G, however, it pops up this message:-

"Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet"

Do I have to manually set the APN?

i think there's a thread for maxis APN if you need by it suppose to set by default
