With the release of KDE 3.4, the are a lot of improvement has been made. Faster time to load (i think about 40% compare to KDE3.3), improved software integration, better GUI, fully Mac-OS like menu bar and upgraded Trash bin that are fully functions just as Recycle Bin. KDE 3.4 just give the SUSE 9.3 new kick.
Personally i dont like SUSE, i think it slow compare to other distros (eg, debian, slackware or gentoo), it need more resource to be stable (that why several softwares keep crashing in SUSE) and costumized to be dependent to Novell (eg. apt is not so impressive and a lot of KDE tool in KDE Control Center can not be use, forcing u to use Yast (Yet Another SLOW Tools) to carry the job.
However with KDE3.4 it just give SUSE a new live upon my eyes. Give me a better desktop and a lot of improvement. It really nice for desktop user to play around. All the packeges are remained same as it predecessor, not much new packages but updated one. Before this i rather recommend Mepis or Xandros to newbie but today SUSE is also in the list.
Stability in SUSE is still questionable, currently i ve test SUSE in a good machine. Until now, no software crashed yet. But in the machine all of it predecessor also perform very well. Well i ll try to test it in the next training in OSCC where i ve seen all problems that previous SUSE give me.
So, anyone ever try SUSE 9.3???
