darn it!
why can't i use VK.

Not a big deal.Even I always use physical qwerty.
Very rarely use the VK.

As aspire said it could be firmware problem. When flashing to PR 1.2 download the global firmware.

Sorry Eiraku if u read this
He is the only one out of 120 owners that brick his phone.
*
As I,Andy & Eiraku agreed on previous thread,Eiraku's damaged phone maybe not due to OC 100%.

To those are encountering problem with nitdroid, did you guys enable the extra-devels?Because most probably nitdroid repo will not be revived & everyone have to use extra deve's to download required files.
Still haven't play around NITDroid fully.Today is due date of 4 assignments & 1 lab report for me.So been busy for the past few weeks.
But tomorrow I'm going full force with NITDroid!

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 4 2010, 09:47 PM)
Bro, OC = heat is only applicable if you do not undervolt. All N900 OCing includes undervolting, and as such generates less heat then you'd think. Some profiles in Titan's kernel run 900mhz with lower voltages than the factory stock 600mhz = not much diff in generated heat.

IINM anyway. Also, a slight overclock means that tasks are completed faster = you can go back to idle faster. That is the general concept behind the "overclock saves battery" movement. But even so, all this HAS NOT BEEN EMPIRICALLY TESTED, so nobody knows for sure.

Heck, OCing CAN even be dangerous to your eMMC by starving and killing it through undervolting (like I PROBABLY did) BUT nobody knows for sure. We need more dead N900s to make that assumption.

I know jananan at least hacks his N900 almost as much as I do (maybe even more) but his device is still not dead lol.
*
Jananan did as much as hacking as you did but I don't think he OC's under starving profile. If I remember correctly he mentioned that he didn't OC these past month because of dependency clash of fcam & titans kernel.
Main difference between you and jananan is you did open heart surgery on you phone doh.gif

Been using nitdroid(older 0.0.6 btw).Performance so far been very encouraging but I didn't OC much because as someone said last time nitdroid still doesn't support proper cpu scaling.I heard that v 0.0.7 has lots of performance & feature additions.I'll try this version tomorrow probably.

p/s : Special credit for my sister for donating her Nokia 7610 for me while I experiment on my phone biggrin.gif

Looking good, but still no where near Maemo for me. Sill look Android-ish.
Guess will see how it turns out in the end, the OS features, open-ness, and supports for videos, cameras, etc.

This is what majority of people wants from Nokia.Only real geeks loves maemo interface according to Nokia.
My vote still for Maemo.

Probably caused by screwed up MCE file?
Take out the battery wait 5 minutes then insert it again. If it's not working & reflash rootsh + emmc

Yes.It's ongoing project. It's proceeding very well current built(0.0.7) have most of functions except GSM(phone). This functions will be sorted out soon.
You can support NITDroid developent by trying out current build & pointing out the problems you discover with current build.

guys, i have problems using my N900 to login to my UNIFI wi-fi. Normal wifi would just be the name of the wifi and the picture of the padlock, its either locked or unlocked with one keyhole.

my unifi wifi has this sentence "wifi protected setup compliant" under the name of the wifi and a picture of a locked padlock and 2 keyholes.

when i click to connect, they will ask push a button on the wireless station to initiate easy setup process ( dont see and button on my moden) and another method is the PIN method which also asks you to key in some digits on the wireless station but i dont see any buttons on my modem. and whats a wireless station..

need help
*
Adding connection manually should help solve this problem.
Does your D-Link router backward wifi draft(a,b,g)?

nitroid 0.0.7 is a big impfovement, but needs to ber oc,d a bit to run smooth.
*
I've running 125MHz-850MHz & 250MHz-850MHz profile alternatively for the past 4 weeks. No much difference between battery life of 500Mhz-850Mhz ideal profile plus 250Mhz lower limit the phone late in response when unlocked..I'm gonna switch back to this 500-850MHz profile later.

About nitdroid I've to wait for a while to update.

does this mean we can install nitdroid without memory card ?

Should be proper steps of installation is not out yet.
I kinda prefer installing it to memory card.I'm using the eMMC memeory for lot's of stuff don't wish to make "rojak" out of everything.

AP warranty can't fix serious damage of our mobile???means we have to pay extra money??
*
QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 8 2010, 10:14 PM)
As long as you don't spoil it to the point where they have to replace it or do some major surgery (like me), then they MIGHT give you trouble. REAL trouble.

NCC WILL replace FOC if they cannot repair, that much I know.

But in the end it's your choice.
*
About the irreparable damage with AP set,I'm think you can ask for new set given you have reasonable AP company(Asia Mobile Pasific,CSL) & good explanation should be able to get replacement.
Else you can try filing report to the consumer association about the breach of warranty claim.

And about the N9, let's see first. If it's worth the upgrade, why not?
*
Kesian....
I've started saving money for N9.If MeeGo turns to be dissapointment,I'll go for the any decent HTC Android with physical keyboard.
I don't care about the so call pro reviewers review.I'll test N9 on my own & decide what I feel.No more stinking fanboy comment for me.

QUOTE
I think it depends more on the read speed of the card in question. Class refers to the minimum write speed of the card.

For instance, I have a class 4 8gb and a class 2 4gb. The smaller class 2 card is far faster running nitdroid than the larger class 4 card.

Testing speeds in windows (using a card reader or the n900 itself), I found the write speeds to be similar. However, the class 2 card was around 50% faster on the read speed than on the class 4 card. I saw this in multiple tests. I have posted results in a thread here and on forum.nitdroid.com.

I suspect in most cases, it's the read speed that slows the system down (loading apps shouldn't involve much writing, but a lot of reading).

Bun, if you would perhaps test your cards and see if read speed is faster on the cards that work better?

You have any comment for this theory?

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 9 2010, 11:54 AM)
Titan kernel lets you do many other stuffs. For OC, it allows "ON DEMAND" Over-clock, which means, when I need the extra power, I just issue the command and I can overclock to the specified clock speed. We can create shortcut or use Desktop Command Execution Widget or Queen Beacon widget to this, so just press the button/icon on the Desktop and wallah, Overclocked~
When finish, just press the other button/icon to reset to default clock speed.
Milestone2... Milestone 2... Milestone 2...

See if Nokia MeeGo device will have physical keyboard and how it look first. But I think the first MeeGo device is another Testing device. AFAIK, it's a rebrand of Maemo6/Harmattan, and previously there was people saying it will still be using deb packaging system instead of rpm, which the "real" MeeGo is using. So, what does this MeeGo means? a stepping stone towards actual MeeGo? I also read that the reason is because Maemo6 has already in development when MeeGo project comes in, so instead of dropping it, they rebranded it to MeeGo and proceed from there.
This is kind of worrying, but most important is, as end user, there is no significant differences and the apps/games are compatible.
*
Yup.Titans kernel sort of NOS for N900.

Milestone 2....I admit that the design is good & Motorola have integrate Android to Milestone/Droid very well. But Motorola don't exactly support open community support for the Milestone users to "unlock" extra function while HTC don't exactly block these sort of "unlocking" functions things.

Some say MeeGo will use DEB but there are also some people saying it will use RPM.Even MeeGo's technical detail have yet to clear out this confusion.Anyway it's possible to recompile DEB into RPM.How well this recompiled apps will work,I've no idea.

Anyway here is some screenshot of NITDroid v0.0.8
Sorry for the lousy pic because Android don't exactly have screenshot taking function.

As you guys can see,GSM functions are nearly complete.Maybe v0.1.0 will have 99% complete Android port.
