Yay, LoL; There're also some MHF players here I think, including MGS

Only play the PSP version MHF though; Somehow I prefer MHF1 as it's more simple, lol, in other words, I'm weak, haha  tongue.gif
Yea,... but 1Ghz and 512MB RAM is not enough... By the time they launch, it will be next year, where people start to haev 1.5Ghz or Dual Core ARM... As for RAM... the Desire HD already have 768MB.
I think if next year they're planning to launch... the spec must meet the specs during that time...

1Ghz processor & 512MB is just the absolute minimum requirement I expect.Of course for a high end smartphone I do hope for a higher performing hardwares.

Hmm.. So very true.

But I still hold to the time honoured sayings of the practical technophile (read: somebody poor enough not to be able to afford the latest bleeding edge). For one: "It's not the hardware, it's how the OS uses it" (also known as "Specs isn't everything".

If Nokia can bleed our eyes with crazy heavy multitasking capability with no lags, UI fluidity and superior memory management in Meego on 512MB of RAM to make the Desire HD's 256MB advantage irrelevant, more power to them.

Although, looking at their track record, that's highly improbable lol.

As long as the specs (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO EDOF CAMERAS OR YOU'LL LOSE ME FOREVER NOKIA) and Meego doesn't turn out to be complete crap though, there's still a high chance I'll get it simply for USB-host and 64GB flash innards alone lol. Plus, the only other thing with slide out QWERTY due out soon will be the Desire Z and THAT one only runs at 800Mhz lol.

And really, what's this sudden drought of new hardware QWERTY phones? Samsung, where's the Galaxy S Pro? Palm, where's the Pre 2?

The E7 skips my list SIMPLY BECAUSE NOKIA DECIDED TO STICK THAT CRAP EDOF CAMERA ON.

Finally somebody with same sense as me.I do think a properly implemented OS is more important than the hardware spec.In this section Froyo is certainly good because it perform well in multiple devices with low to high performing device.
But as you know MeeGo is just going for v1.1 next month.I don't think the OS will be all that polished. So it's good if the users have capable hardware so if in future there is newer MeeGo then it could be updated in old devices & the device itself still can compete with newer device.

About DesireZ,yes it's running 800MHz only. But there's a catch. It's using vanilla froyo which make the operating the whole phone lots faster.

The problem is, MeeGo devices are referred to as high end devices; I would expect it to have great hardware. Although it's true that it's important that the OS is optimize and utilizes the hardware/management, but having more powerful hardware is a PLUS. I would prefer have BOTH, especially for mobile devices where the hardware can't be upgraded but the software/OS itself can be optimized/improved/polished. So, there, I will still prefer they provide a decent hardware, the OS can't be perfect, they will eventually improves it overtime, but if the hardware itself is poor, then it's just tweaking, tweaking and tweaking,... like N900........ Seriously lack of memory,....

Take HD2 for example with 768MB ram, it may not be a requirement, to run, but it's a plus to have more especially since we cannot upgrade/add ram..... So it's more important to give than not to give.
EDIT: Another example: iOS4 for iPhone 3G vs 3GS vs iPhone 4.

Another plus would be, if we can dual boot or even better multi-boot... and the community ports Maemo, Android, etc over. With the great hardware available, it's better.

Oh, another; in case they have some new version OS that somehow have higher requirements of hardware, at least, the device itself still meets the requirements.

For me, E7 failed mainly on 2 factor:
1. Camera lack of autofocus (or EDoF?).
2. No memory slot.
Any other?
