QUOTE(GNPlamo @ Apr 24 2011, 07:37 AM) is there a proper way to make your pokemon have certain hidden power?i have tried several times to make sure my oshawott learned hidden power fire, but failed so far I tried to get HP Ice for my Sceptile before, ended up with 31 IV in Atk, Sp.Atk and Speed instead. It's not very likely to happen. Even if you do get it, the power may be too low to be any useful. I still don't understand about this Hidden Power thing. |

QUOTE(GNPlamo @ Apr 24 2011, 05:50 PM) well for my samurott build, HP power fire could be useful against bulk grass type.so kinda want that.but its hard to get exactly what i want That's why physical build is preferred, Mega Horn will kill Grass types. If the IV of your Oshawott is below Superior, the Hidden Power it gets will be useless, too weak to be used. |

QUOTE(GNPlamo @ Apr 24 2011, 08:01 PM) lol im getting confused. http://www.metalkid.info/Pokemon/Calculators/IV.aspxwhat do you guys say if; Oshawott, Modest HP 12 ATT 5 DEF 5 SP ATT 6 SP DEF 6 SPEED 6 so how to determine its IV is good or no? Need Level, characteristics like Like to Trash About, Often Dozes Off, ect. HP type for more accurate calculation. Don't touch your new Oshawott at all. If you can, give it a few Rare Candies, jot down the info, and key into the calculator. |

My goal in BW is to finish the game and play random wifi battles. Otherwise, there is nothing interesting in-game itself, it will get dull very quickly.

QUOTE(GNPlamo @ Apr 26 2011, 11:04 PM) guys help me out here. Another thing, being Alert to Sounds may not always be 31 IV, it can be less than that, you must check the parent with such characteristic first with the IV man before putting on Power Anklet and throw into the Daycare.im still pretty confused on the IV thingy. atm, im breeding a Jolly Chimchar , and also to get Alert to sounds Characteristics, which is one maxed out IV for speed. ok so how do i go about determining my chimchar(or looking at Infernape) IV? Have you bred one with 31 IV already? QUOTE It is best to test your team before doing any IV breeding. Competitive battle is all about your team combination and prediction. If you really wanna start for IV breeding, go for 31 Speed IV for sweeper 1st. That will be enough. This ^ 31 IV is only important for speed and attack/special attack stat. There are many perfectionists out there who wants very good IV. My Pokemons must have at least 2 maxed IV and the overall potential must be Outstanding, so that it can take hits better. I'm more like a breeder than a trainer. |

QUOTE(malakus @ May 1 2011, 09:09 PM) What? Oshawott and Simisear? only? o_o seriously? Really, only those 2 are useable, the other is Gurdurr, it's too slow to do anything useful. I'm ready to face the ice gym leader. I just want to blaze through the game and Poketransfer! Haxorous is monstrous, liked him... Well thats before I met Hydreigon o_o; Though leveling it from a Deino is a pain the ass... That hydra dragon thing, I LIKE! It looks like the three-headed dragon in Godzilla movie. Man, these Pokemons are really appealing, I'm already thinking of breeding these new babies. I don't know what Pokemons to stick to! |

QUOTE(Fujisawa_Ruuzaa @ May 1 2011, 10:19 PM) I still haven't received the shiny dogs in my HG, due the the IV crap, not even my Mew and Latias. QUOTE why not try Chandelure? Very powerful ghost/fire pokemon. OHKO every Ice that gets in the way. But it's speed.. so-so. My Simisear will kill the Ice Pokemons easily, it's fast. I'm this lazy coz there is no point leveling these Pokemons I'm not going to use after I can Poketransfer. I think Pokemon was more fun before the discovery about IV and EV. Edit: Nevermind, I just creamed all of them using my Lv 39 Oshawott alone, Sword Dance, Scald, Aqua Jet and Shell Blade. This post has been edited by LKH9: May 1 2011, 11:56 PM |

QUOTE(GNPlamo @ May 1 2011, 11:08 PM) guys when checking the IV at the battle subway, ok before he told you about the possible IV your pokemon has, when he say decent, relatively superior and etc. You will want to watch for "Outstanding potential!" "Superior potential" is not bad either, it depends on your own own preference. Outstanding is not easy to get. These have to do with the AVERAGE total of all the IVs of that Pokemon. how does it effect your pokemon? btw if a pokemon by breeding, it says get along well but play w/ other pokemon more, meaning not at all will give out eggs? The second comment is about the highest value of all the Stats. This, you watch for "It can't be better in that regard!" = confirm 31 IV in that stat. Talk to him more than 1 time and if your Pokemon has more than 1 max IV, he will tell it, so watch out! As long as the Pokemons are in the same egg group according to bulbapedia, they will breed, it just takes more time to get the eggs. They will still produce eggs no matter what. Edit: sorry, misread your sentence, yeah, if the Daycareman says the Pokemon prefers to play with others, that means it will not produce eggs. Have you got any good Pokemons through trades already?? I used lots of dirty tactics and luck to win those gym leaders.Need to send my Heartgold ingame powerhouse... ------------------ Hydreigon and Druddigon, which one to choose?, tough decision! I seem to like the redhead thing better... |

QUOTE(malakus @ May 2 2011, 04:40 PM) I finished the game, but trying to collect money to buy tms and day care fees. Now I only have 1 worry, it's the Zekrom... It's the crap which you must capture the Zekrom, and can't defeat it and leave it for later use. Like in previous gen didn't bother with the other legendary |

QUOTE(akmal89 @ May 4 2011, 03:57 PM) tried to find some info in the internet but it seems that it does nothing really~ Don't get fed up yet! That new Zorua with Outstanding potential is great for breeding! There are chances of passing down it's outstanding IVs randomly, and the chances the new offspring will be Outstanding will INCREASE too! Keep it! EDIT: trying to breed zorua at last getting an outstanding iv but unfortunately have serious nature QUOTE Serious nature is good... You can have mixed attack For competitive plays, no. It's a disadvantage. |

QUOTE(GNPlamo @ May 6 2011, 01:05 PM) just got a chimchar with full IV Speed and Attack.is it possible to breed it again to add another IV? ; ie. Sp. Attack? the one i got was Outstanding, was so relieved lol I still remember when I was breeding my Treecko, aiming for 31 Speed, Sp.Atk and Attack, I was going crazy already with that, nearly falling asleep all the time, don't do it if you can. |

QUOTE(HiRuMi91 @ May 7 2011, 05:57 AM) It's called soft-resetting for me, it's pretty easy once you understand how it works. With this method, you can retain the Nature, Ability and Gender that you want, ALL THE TIME! then soft-reset until it gets Outstanding potential and max IVs.@xShinji, a Power Item with Everstone is really the best way of breeding good babies. I tried with both Power Items alone before and it sucks. Relatively Superior and Outstanding with 3 Maxed IVs,... hard to settle down. This post has been edited by LKH9: May 7 2011, 06:38 AM |

So now I've reached Elite 4, with Oshawott(lv48+), Druddigon(Lv48+), Simisear(lv40+), Durant(lv30+), Excadrill(Lv30+, newly caught) and the baby eagle, lv20+.
I stand no chance against them. I miss my Baton Pass Gliscor. |
