Anyway, completed the story / Tower?

finished story w/ all characters (some on hard/medium, majority on beginner)
@ lvl 80+ on tower.

training scorpion and quan chi for expert story mode, highest level so far is 7.

wow, finished arcade ladder aledi...

good luck with the expert story mode...

changed options to play 1 round only
expert is real tough/disheartening --- kena either one of mileena /scorpion/shang tsung/raiden just put down my controller.

Haven't even finish the story mode even on medium Still stuck at shao khan.

Training noob/smoke/scorpion now.

I think the key here is "Cross-Ups"

Meaning, once you get the cpu to fall down, before he/she managed to get back up, leap over them and begin your attack. The cpu in Mortal Kombat is horrid in anticipating Cross Up attacks. After the cross ups, land a few hard combos and you'll have the round to yourself in just a matter of time.

Same goes for the sorry excuse for a warlord (shao kahn). Use raiden, and get as far as you can. Sometime he would start to brag, just teleport behind him and combo away. Or when he starts to throw the spear (blockable) or the hammer (unblockable) just teleport behind him and combo. Rinse and repeat...

ya, its just for the trophy.

haven't reached until shao kahn on expert. always lose to those few mentioned earlier due to their speed combos/teleports. kena raiden flying-me-to-the-edge spam until sien. dread to think what kintaro/goro will be like.

will try to land those 'cross-ups'. are you using a fighting stick or ds3?

for raiden, if he starts spamming superman and lightning for wall combo...
I tried to never give him the chance to execute those moves flawlessly, I will always try to punish them. Use the block button, its your friend as Lord Raiden is not the touchy (grappler) type you'll succeed soon enuf... its just a matter of reading through his play style.

for kintaro and goro, my opinion is, don't stay on level ground too often, jump and do like the monkey do....
for goro, once u lock in a few combo, he's going to be vulnerable... however for kintaro, he's a bit on the hard side and you need to diversify your combos and add some specials (SP) / enhanced specials (ESP)

I'm using fightpad. The one like old sega genesis controller... dunno how to use fightstick

how's a fightpad different from ds3? buttons easier to press w/ thumb?

thought of getting fightstick but pricey and dunno if i can get used to it.

have to visit local arcade to testing 1 of these days.

been playing around like the fatality practice, normal practice and tag practice..

currently training ermac and scorpion...

got slow finger max combo for ermac 7hit 32%damage

no prob, you never try you never know. The only downside for the fightpad is it uses a usb dongle but still wireless (like guitar hero's guitar). And it utilizes the power of 2 AA battery unit. But I've been using the controller for about a year now and just changed the battery 2 days back, very energy saving IMHO. Or changed coz Mortal Kombat requires so much power?


no prob, just a fellow Kombatant sharing some info he knows. For ermac, try to land a jump 2 (Triangle) Forget about what they tell you about jump kicks...

Jump 2, 2, 2, tele slam and after that continue with your choice of combo, as this is his bread and butter combo (25% - 30% plus damage if you continue with an uppercut I think)

My custom combo (shifting island ) inspired by Check4900's scorpion's teleport , the guy who did kombo for Mortal Kombat Demo on Youtube.

Jump 2, 2, 2, tele slam, jump 4(circle), telepunch, jump 4, telepunch, down 1(square), telepush / teleslam, then mysfloat, play the guessing game, if the opponent jump, telepunch, if he stays still, mysbomb!

the best part for this combo is, it doesn't use power bar and its 12hit 49% damage (not including outcome for mysfloat) of course you can swap for esp(enhanced super) teleslam and esp telepush, but for only + 3% - 4% damage more, its not worth it IMHO


There are other more dangerous character around like Kung lao, where he can do 80% damage by alternating his dive kick and auraspin. Man, this game is definitely going to kick **s when we take it online.

Stage fatalities normally just do it up close
Tips for pulling any fatalities which requires you to use the up sequence *Use the block button*

its just a matter of training your muscle memory.. once you get into it, your reflex will auto execute the move, sometime u yourself also got scared seeing your hands / fingers move by themselves...
