my main is an ele shaman who is only 5891 gs but have done 8/12 HM 25 cos long time retired adi. At 10% ICC (around the time i retired) i was doing 10-12k dps. A few tips:

1) The thing with ele shaman is u shouldn't time your CD. Use them whenever they are ready.
2) take risks. This is dangerous but do it when you know your healers are competent. The reason being ele shamans are like bunkers in starcraft 2. We do awesome dps... standing still. Example of taking risk is when (in normal mode) you continue dps even though the beast that spawns from Saurfang is biting ur ass.
3) make sure ur dot is always on the boss.
4) USE UR FIRE TOTEMS! Many ele shamans don't use the right fire totems at the right bosses. Find out what fire totems to use and when to use them.
5) use tunneling service. It makes a difference.
6) you said you "offheal" in jam situations? I'm guessing you keep an eye on the tank's health and pop a heal when they are low even while you're dps-ing? DON'T!!! Your job is to dps. DO YOUR JOB. Let the healers heal and if the tank dies they are responsible. Nobody is going to praise you for doing a 3k heal on the tank which is damn insignificant.

I'd comment on your gear choice and spec if you think you need help in that department. Ele shaman is very fun to play. Don't be discouraged because you have to play it right to get the right results.

P.S: pls don't heal in ele spec. You will give shamans a bad name

i say... new generation of WoW players now so crazy about GS. As long as your dps is good nobody will buat bising. But if your gs is high and you do bad dps then ppl complain. I also work the system like suggested by instant noodle especially on my alt demo warlock. I put in an ilvl 245 hit trink when inspected to join as carrier for GDKP and then change it for my SP trink (Illustration of the Dragon Soul) when inside. Nobody complain about me or my GS cos i'd be in the top 5 dps. They will only complain when it is a wipe and they see you're holding them back.
