I went to SC yesterday for 5000km service interval and look what they have found. my fead belt really worn out, luckily it didn't break while me driving. they told me that it was part defect (mean; their supplier of this belt are to blame). really frustrated to see new car with 6000km age already already have such problem. my 158,000km age kelisa had never such problem. i told the sc, why proton car have so much problem? I really regret not getting perodua car instead and they only smile and said "thank you for supporting us at proton". huh... vmad.gif

The belt you see at the outside of the engine is the auxiliary drive belt (i.e when you start the engine, it connects the crankshaft, alternator, A/Con compressor, water pump & power steering pump - all via a series of pulleys thus enabling all these components to run simultaneously)

Drive belts are made from one giant roll with no joints. Just like a swiss roll. You cut it to size. I bet it is not a manufacturers defect. It cannot be happening to just one or few cases.  It is most definitely an installation problem - at engine assembly stage.

i'll check the belt from time to time in case the problem reappeared. if it does, then surely my car got problem at engine assembly stage.

- you will regret more if you buy a Perodua with the exception of Kenari and Kelisa. Trust me on this man. Been there done that. Perodua used to be better in QC than Proton. Now it is totally the other way around.
*
really? why is that? i got 3 out of 4 friends droves myvi and nothing serious happen to their car so far.
would you like to elaborate more?
