Well, I used to have this problems of hanging after extensive use at 250fsb @ 1T. Took the RAM out and found the heat spreaders are literally burning. I found this problem out when I changed from XP120 to water cooling.
So I figured, heat must be the problem. Then, I tried to put an 80mm fan dedicated to cool it and now I can prime it without any problems. Can even do 255fsb during benchmarks. The application will automatically do the scoring based on its set of tests which I think includes inputting and outputting chunks of data into the memory and measure the timing.
