Not all good hair shop has good stylist. only some of them i guess.
good one will even touch up those baby hairs that sprawl around the surface of your hair .
not many of them knew how to shave the M look of the forehead. the M shape gives your fore face more brighter n stand up .

cutting hair is not only about selecting a stylist but one must be able to differentiate or name the style of the hair..

latest cut for businessmen are armani style or butch cut.. google it.

i notice many malaysian don't read about hair cut, they just let the hair designer decide.
maybe one or two websites could help us to know what cuts are available. some faces are round, some have protrude jaws, oval head etc...

malaysian weather and other country weather are different, so don't lah want to follow other countriy hairstyles like japan or korea men did.

keeping it long is not suitable here, have it short will do due to the dust, humidity and heat .
faux hawk or butch cut will be great for malaysia.

i see alot of people just dumb enough to keep long hair. stink , oily and lots of dandruff... stupid malaysian.

i always wanted to hve my hair style according to male magazines . these are models with different nose and jaw structure. every time we wanted this and the outcome is always different.

sometimes hair stylist can't tell how it gonna look right on our facial structure.

So, is there any hairstylist that is able to tell me that these is not suitable for me and this is the right styling for my face so i don;t have any high expectation to look similar with the models?

which salon or stylist are pro in the finishing and expectation?

i plan to cut butch or Buzz style . I was planning to get it cut in cheap barber shop but i was wondering if this style requires at least some expertise to do it or any barbers like indian barbers could do it already. The blade used for this style is 2cm . i hope someone here can tell me where is the right place you had been before to get this hair cut. thanks.

barbers definitely be able to do it. u just got to be very specific. i dun think they know wat a butch or buzz cut is. if u know the local term even better.

but a word of caution tho. let me explain my experience last year.

one saturday morning mid of last year i sudd got inspired to do a buzz cut. so went to the nearest barber n told them "no 2 semua". it turned out horrible   coz i have thick straight coarse hair so no2 all over made me look like a durian. i went home with much regret. stared at myself in the mirror. later in the day i went to my regular salon n told d hairstylist to try to fix it. what she did was use no 1 guard for the sides n back. looked much better n less like a durian.

a month later i got inspired again. went to my hairstylist n told her i really wan to go all d way botak. so she used no guard. d result was alright but unfortunately i have one of those head shapes not suited for the botak look.  i looked like a monk or a PLA new recruit.

most of my frens laughed at me for going bald but at least i had d guts to do it LOL.

- never go for no.1 guard straight away. unless u went botak b4 in d past. tell them to use no 2. 1st n see how it goes. at least it grows bak faster.

- u r not gonna 100% know ur real head shape until u shave everything off. even using no2 guard i thought my head shape was alright to go fully bald. only when no guard was used i saw how unsuited my head shape was.

- most chinese dudes dun look good botak. maybe's its d lack of sharp features or the contrasting black hair n fair skin. but i have seen indian n malay dudes pullin off the botak look really well.

- leave some kind of facial hair if u decide to go botak/buzz cut or watever close cropped short hairstyle. makes u look less like a NS trainee or high school student.

- growing out the hair is the hardest part. there will be a period where the hair looks weird coz u cant style it, looks like a ball n it just sticks up. if u got typical straight asian hair its gonna be even tougher. i took a good 2 months to grow my hair to a length that is styleable but very minimally with a lot of wax.

thanks..
im a rounded face with big chunk of meat below my chin. U were right , fat people should not go for butch cut. i try before and it's really look like a monk and doesn't really look like celebrity look in the magazine. what hair styles do you think suitable for fat guys.

try Top Passion@Paradigm mall. one of the stylist named Andrew does a pretty good job for me. my hair type is very straight, thick n hard so very difficult to cut. cut too much or thin down too much n the end result will be disastrous. i been there twice edi n both times the haircuts were perfect. he even makes sure the sides n sideburns r evenly shaped unlike some other places where u end up with different shaped sides.

1st time i went there he explained to me in detail wat he gonna do to my hair. not so much bout face shape but he concentrate more on a hairstyle that suits my hair type.

nope i have not tried

i dun change hairstylist often. b4 going to Top Passion i was getting haircut at the same salon by d same lady for 10+ years. but she started screwing up my hair...uneven shaped sides, back n sideburns. very basic stuff also cant get right. it was pretty nerve wrecking to go new salon haha.

i dont' understand some stylist. having you as customer for 10 years and still screw up your hair.

what do you think of hair stylist using a trimmer? Some hairstylist i noticed trying to save time . I prefer those who use scissors all the way to do it and it looks more natural hair cut . the trimmer makes the hair look so stiff and perpendicular.
