i guess this is the best place to rant. bear with me

Maybe im too fussy but i really dread going for haircuts nowadays. i normally get a haircut once a month. over the past 6 months my usual hairstylist manages to screw up the haircut 4 times.

1. the back neckline uneven. one side like cut properly one side no line.
2. left sideburn cut very short n thin compared to right side.
3. hair thinned down too much. when i style hair sticks out everywhere.
4. left side of the back cut too short. weird shape.

they cant seem to shape sideburns. always end up one side longer than the other. once left side shorter than right side one inch LOL.

last month i decided to go to another salon. haircut was alright but i felt the hairstyle a bit too ah beng.

im due for a haircut soon. so the anxiety comes again. i think i shud go to one of those more expensive places for once. but i dowan to end up paying RM50 for an uneven haircut.

seriously i also kena this.... end up uneven, sloppy and not what i wanted....and took too much time (40 minutes for a freaking haircut!!)

fed up with all the hair salon shits.... went for barber... at least if they screwed up im not that mad.... but then again they rarely screw up my hair... plus with rm10++ together with shaved and "kepak kepala" i could not complain much lol!

i dun mind if a haircut takes an hour even...as long as the end product is good.

now when i recall...one of the dumbest excuses fr the hairstylist for an uneven cut is lighting n my hair too black LOL. WTF. after a good haircut i got home n realized she din cut some parts of the back. so went back n told her to cut properly. den came the lighting excuse.

one reason i went bald mid of last year is bcoz i cant tahan d shitty haircuts. but the shape of my head wasn't suited for botak unfortunately.

barbers r damm good at shaping sideburns. a few times i even went to barber just to shape sideburns n clean up d lower neck hairline. got charged RM2. den sudd one day he decided to charge me RM5 instead. dats d last time i went to barber.

thats the only problem with barber... sometime he charge u so little sometime he charge u so much!

cant argue with the sideburns thingie when comes to barber... thou i feels a bit strange when i say shave my mustache, they seems reluctant, asking me to keep it also...

why ah? anyways i dont like myself with mustache.... feels weird...

Thanks for this. I think we have similar hair texture. Might go there and check it out.

How much was it before discount?

How did you get the discount in the first place?

I want to cut my hair tomorrow, and I want it to be styled like Ryan Gosling from the movie "Drive" or "Stupid Crazy Love". Every time I show the picture to the hair stylist, I end up with short hair and standing hair at the back. Can someone help me how to explain, is it not possible?

i dun think my hairstyle has any specific name. its a variation of my current hairstyle but cut with proper technique.

looks something like this:

user posted image

my fringe n top slightly shorter. n thinned down more too coz my hair really thick n coarse. normal slope at the back.

caucasian hair is diff.

i was asking my hairstylist the same thing n he said hard for asian hair to do that. unless u leave ur hair long or u got really soft hair.

my hair also same so i usually ask them to cut shorter so the "sticking up " effect not so obvious. but this new hairstylist says i shud not cut short coz when the hair gets longer other parts will flatten n d back will stick up...not proportionate. so he maintain d length n thin down the back. still sticks up ut easier to style. i usually just spike it up a bit not not flatten it

I suspect so. Don't like spiky hair style, guess I have to maintain it long and thin.
