A few simple google search will yield alot of results instead of you asking here.

The theory is simple ... yet i haven't tried it before. Its like setting up a router(gateway server) where you have to tell your wifi that the connection out(internet) is thru your wired connection. not sure if there is a software (freeware i mean) for that.

try bzeek, download from www.bzeek.com. I am currently using it as temporary measure to connect my HTC Desire to my laptop which is connected to office lan via Lan cable. However, I dun know whether it is safe or not.

Some wi-fi card like the one in my Thinkpad X60 is not compatible with connectify and I tried many time to setup ad-hoc but unsuccessful. So at the end I found this bzeek stuff. It is quite easy to set up but it automatically create an open network connection. So if your office has strict IT policy, you better check first whether this is allowed.

I have been using the ad hoc network to connect to my handphone whenever my prepaid internet runs out of credit. But my nokia 5800 Xpress Music cannot browse the internet throught the ad hoc network with the internet sharing on, but my n82 and n95 can surf the internet and download stuff without problem. can any1 explain or guide me on this?
