hey guys,

i have a 14' lenovo laptop from company for work purpose. since my old fujitsu spoilt, been using this laptop to online etc.
but cannot install msn and simply upgrade la. thus airasia also cannot use.

thought of buying own laptop, either 11.6, 12.1 or 13.3. couldn't make up my mind yet. but definitely not 10' netbook as performance is not good.

as i travel a lot, if buy a too big one will be funny coz bringing 2 laptops with me (though sit in the car only). love to buy 11.6 actually as it's small enough to carry around. i din play games, if got also fb or yahoo games but hardly. just use the laptop for blogging, online searching info most of the times, youtube, fb.

any solutions or recommendation guys? budget is best if 2.5k and below. i want a light machine. hardly use DVD/ CD rom.

oh ya, btw if i plan to buy iphone, do u think i need to buy laptop again?

thanks guys for ur help!

There's not much 11.6 inchers (with new technologies) at the moment, but you could take a look at the following models:

Inspiron Dell M101z; AMD K125, ATI 4225 RM1499; AMD K325, ATI 4225 RM1799
Toshiba Portege T110 (old model); SU4100, Intel GMA 4500 RM1999
Toshiba Portege T210; U5400, Intel GMA HD RM2299
Asus UL20A (old model); SU2300, Intel GMA 4500 RM1800
Asus Eee PC 1201T (old model), AMD MV-40, AMD HD3200 RM1499
Acer 1830TZ; U5400, Intel GMA HD RM1899
Acer 1825PTZ; SU4100, Intel GMA 4500 RM2299
Fujitsu Lifebook P3110; SU4100, Intel GMA RM2699
Fujitsu Lifebook P3010; AMD MV-40 RM1999
HP dm1; AMD K325, ATI 4225 RM2299

(editted) Even though some listed are old models but definitely capable of satisfying your needs. Dell M101z offers the best performance though, seriously can consider since its also quite cheap (starting from RM1499)! drool.gif drool.gif

Imho, smart phones can only do that much when it comes to online-ing hehe~ Still it depends on how much you surf the net lo icon_rolleyes.gif

If you wanna buy Smartphone for those mentioned (heavily internet+flash usage), you better off with N900 rather than iPhone 3Gs

not sure abt iPhone 4G =)

I recommend the Apple iPad =).. Suit your needs totally... There're a lot of facebook games which are integrated into Apple applications de... So flash isn't a necessity... And iPad has really good web-browsing experience, a lot faster too..
If you're concern about typing using the touchpad, can always get the bluetooth keyboard for it..

+1 The U35Jc is actually quite good, but the price exceeds your budget by around RM200...

eh... PF T.J., so among all the ASUS 12.1 and 13.3, which one you'll recommend? i've no prob to stretch another RM200 if the laptop is good smile.gif

i think i can wait till yr end if UL20FT is really good too..

thank you.

Non-glossy screen would really hard to find now, the one fit this screen is either Dell Vostro 3300 or some netbook.....

Well, since you don't play games and don't use any graphic intensive programs then there's no real need to get the U35Jc for the usages you mentioned nod.gif But U35Jc does have a larger screen... its also much much more powerful than the UL20FT.
The UL20FT (should be around RM2000) will be available in Singapore but probably not in Malaysia, that's the biggest problem sweat.gif

yeah, the M101z and M301z are very good candidates too, the remaining cash can be used to purchase Dell's famous warranty hehe nod.gif
I don't like glossy materials and screens either T________T

if u re interested with M101z and M301z, i would suggest u get with Athlon II Neo K325... which is the more expensive variation of M101z, or the cheaper variation of M301z...

in M101z, K125 is a single core CPU, while for M301z, K625 has higher clock (and more expensive as well)... K325 strikes a good balance between the 2... of course if u ve the budget, go ahead and get K625... nod.gif

the rest, it's up to ur own preference... smile.gif
