get a any normal modem connect to Dlink DIR-615.. flash it to dd-wrt.. vlan tagging to the modem, u have a better bandwidth control with dd-wrt

advantage:
better bandwidth control and stability
alot more feature with dd-wrt u can explore

disadvantage
danger to brick your router
may be high cost for you

software based
use p2pover--> google search

advantage
it free
easy to use, with just few click you can limit their bandwidth

disadvantage
can easily bypass with good firewall
your pc have to on 24/7 for bandwidth control

Ya,that's a high cost for me.
Forgot to mention that i just want a low cost modem router for the moment.
I'm using TM RIGER modem router and having problem with the modem.
So i plan to change a new modem router for bandwidth control purpose.

The B version is an updated version of T. Both are similar but B is superior than T in wireless link signal and uptime reliability.

At least that's what i've felt since i've used both of them. Both seems to have some problem with overheat though. So sometimes it may hang after a few days of not turning off the router

I look thru the manual and found out that T version having bandwidth management and QoS while B only having QoS.
Can someone who used 2640T before, tell me if the bandwidth management is effective?
