Looking to plan a backpacking trip in Europe next year. Just looking to see how many people are interested to go. I have some families in different parts in Europe (Sweeden, Scotland, Belgium) so we could plan stop there as well. PM me. We can plan out the details later.

FYI i am currently in US, but taking short vacation in Msia now.

Sure understand. I was thinking 2-3 weeks next year sometime may or jun. Not sure cost yet. Are there certain places some of you would like to go? I do not want to dictate the vacation spots

What I'll do is map a rough route first, then we can discuss from there the stops.

I think you should try to go to Krakow instead of Warsaw for Poland, I was told by a Pole during my trip to Stockholm that there is nothing much to visit in Warsaw itself and Krakow is way nicer.

Vienna is a very nice place as well, maybe you should consider it as well ?

Yea we can consider vienna. that is austria. in fact salzburg and vienna all close by. Warsaw is just capital, some architecture stuff there. In poland interested in visiting auschitwz camp, castle and tatra mountains which is supposed to be beautiful. I was thinking we want to rent a car for easier transportation. In some cases take train.

Please do continue to suggest places. I want us to have a good list to start, then check any showstoppers on travel spots (for example: some places only good to travel or open from x to y month during the year)

Also i think i will create a new thread in the forum to make it cleaner. Maybe first 2 post is summary and important details.

Also I do not know if it is cheaper to fly in and return from same airport. kayak.com allows us to search for flights from multiple airports (travel agents may get us better deals). Need to do some research.

as for driving on left side i do it now anyway lol so no worries there, just the understanding of their street signs and laws may be a bit different.

How many days you all plan tentatively for the trip? I think you need to book well in advance to get cheap air/train ticket. Perhaps can consider Eurotrain ? So you all are planning to take flight to Munich from your origin?

Yea have to fly to a "start city". I am also thinking renting car and in some cases use train. Lets work on generating a route, and getting a city to fly in. Right now the discussion is route. We can all fly from and to same destination unless some of you are located in a different country.

Anybody want to suggest a tentative date? Sept 20th to Oct 10th? Also have to cross reference date of travel with activities make sure it is appropriate and available.

Basically the tentative dates you all set is in the month of October and not June instead ?

Have just roughly plan out such, nothing but flight is confirmed so far:-

Day 1 (28/4 sat) - KK
Arrive at KK T2 around 20:35pm;
Check-in Cititel / or Tune /or Tang Dynasty /or Gaya Central / Sarangnove / 1-City; and
Late dinner/hangout at KK sat-nite fever bistro (pls reckon ??)
(you can get a lot of pubs in KK Time Square, one of the famous one will be Firefly)



Day 2 (29/4 sun) – KK (Island Hopping)
Breakfast (fried dumplings, 'ngau chap' and sang yuk mee.)
Gaya morning street market;
Early lunch at Yee Fung (laksa);
Depart noon from Jesselton Point for TAR Marine Park Island Hopping & snorkeling till evening (Sapi/Manukan/Sulug/Gaya/Mamutik) (Sapi n Mamutik are nicer than Manukan)
Dinner at Ocean Seafood Village. (I went to Welcome Seafood at Asia city there which is quite nice and reasonable priced, near to Cititel Hotel)
Shoppe Suria KK, 1- Borneo, Wisma Merdeka, Center Point;


Day 3 (30/4 mon) – KK (Kundasang)
Check-out
Breakfast at Wan Wan Rest’r (fish lip noodle), Penampang;
Pick-up car rental, drive to kundasang;
Check-In Kundasang (Rose Cabin, Pine Resort, Celyn hotel, Aristo hotel, Cottage Hotel or Fairy Garden Resort)
Lunch at Kundasang ) pls reckon???  (Pine Resort)
Cow farm 2pm-3.30pm
Evening Tea & Strawberry plantation
Dinner at Kundasang ) pls reckon???

Day 4 (1/5 tue) –Kundasang to KK to Tanjung Aru

Kinabalu National Park, lunch “Liwagu or Bayu Restaurant”
Check-Out, drive to back KK;
Check-In Le Meridian, KK;
Tom Yam noodles at a kopitiam right behind of Le Meridien Hotel
Borneo Marine Research Institute in the afternoon
Sunset at Sutera Harbour, Tanjung Aru; (pls reckon place for dinner here????) (Sunset Bar in Shangri-La got better sunset view), u can go and have Italian food at waterfront

Day 5 (2/5 wed) – KK depart
Breakfast (fried dumplings, 'ngau chap' and sang yuk mee)
Kelapa Bakar and Lokan Bakar
Lunch at Equatorial restaurant for crocodile meat in Tanjung Aru on the way to T2
Depart from T2 at 14:40

If nov Or Dec the flight very expensive..not worth and also very cold already so Sept/Oct is the nice month...am going to book the flight this coming saturday which is <6k for 2 person(both way)...
