Hi,

I've been planning to do this trip for a while but none of my friends have the time off work so I'm looking for someone to travel with. If it's possible to make this journey, I'm planning to travel anytime between january-march next year and would like to spend several weeks. Still working on itinerary but here is the route:

KL - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Chiang Kong - Huay Xai - Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng - Vientiane - Hanoi - Hue - Hoi An - HCM - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap - KL

I know it's easy to meet up with people on the way but it would be good to have a travel companion in advance. Having a friend to go with would be better and definately cut down on the costs. My plans are pretty flexible so if u r interested, pls let me know. I'm easy to get along with, reliable and very strong too..hehe..cheers!

Now I'm thinking to change the title to Travel Companion for I haven't seen any similar thread. If u r looking for a travelmate, post as much information as u're comfortable doing. I'd suggest to those who r seeking travel companion to inform the forumers ur travel plan much earlier. Where and when. Giving early notice will increase possibility of the plan to work out, instead of alerting the thread with a short notice. Good luck!

U can use 2012 annual leave in advance can't u? hehe..might consider skip 1 or 2 places but 1 week is just not enough. sorry.

Travel+shopping trip? Can't afford to do that before the backpacking day..Unless u wanna go trip to Petaling Street 2-3 weeks is considered long for working adults. As for myself, I've to sacrifice almost half of my annual leave. Get off the cubicle, lets make it an epic journey!

its after CNY for sure.

it's 2-3 weeks. i cant estimate the budget at the moment. too bz lately

thnx for sharing. i know most travelers spend 2-4 months to those places. skipping few spot will be considered by the way. its pretty hard for me to get long leave. still working hard to convince the boss n make it happened.

i will. their target is chinese, specifically who looks like he/she might fetch money, which can be a kidnapping target as well. i think it's safe to travel to manila, having said that, just practise the usual travel common sense.

I'm not sure this is a good or bad news but sorry guys, I've found a travel mate. We have decided to make it not more than two person. i don’t have a specific plan until now. it’s a short backpacking trip and i’ll be traveling on a shoestring. i’ll start with ha long bay and tam coc. i’ll go to saigon from hanoi by train n stay in backpackers hostel. i'll cook my own food as well..this is a very kedekut trip

i went to malang last feb. i know someone who can guide u to mt. bromo, in case u need a guide. drop me a pm for details.
