Are those serial numbers help when identifying fake?

for gibsons, the serial number can also tell what model and color it should be.
but of cos that one have to ask gibson customer service

what about their epiphones?
are they legit?

you know why people are still buying fake guitars?because they are dreaming to have a Gibson or a Fender but got not enough money. Some people are like that, they can't wait. Tak sabar nak ada guitar fender.hehehe.

My advise is, just go and buy second hand or old-stock products. I bought my Iron Cobra Second Generation for RM600 only and my pearl steel piccolo snare for RM300 plus. And these items are still in good condition. Owh and I bought a Maestro LP guitar form Noobaxe for RM300 plus also because its an old stock product. As simple as that, if you don't want to spend much, just search for second hand gears, no need to buy fake guitars. Malu laa nak main pakai guitar tipu.

ok for whoever is interested, I know a music store in Sungei Wang that sells fake Epiphones.
You know which one.

The deluxe and the standard only got that 2 screw bridge..

Actually..Even Slash used a replica Les Paul on his early days..in fact the whole Appetite For Distruction album was recorded using REPLICA Les Paul.
Funny how THE definitive Les Paul/Marshall sound on Appetite was actually created with neither a Gibson nor a factory Marshall!
Yet both Jim Marshall and Gibson parade Slash around at the trade shows and don't mind making a crap load of money off of him..
hmmm...
one more fact, Slash and Jimmy Page both did a great deal for the popularity of Les Pauls with their first albums... without using Gibsons!

i doubt it.those times,china weren't the power houses they used to be.so fakes would be 1000x better compared to know.

his guitar is basically chopped up parts of a kramer glued together.
because those times,you can do stuff like that.
the parts and even the fake guitars your buying did have good quality.

the faker said retail price is 1200, can lower to 750 only..

Fakes wouldn't bother me as much as it bothers me now if they only costed RM100 and the word FAKE is clearly embedded on the back of its headstock.

i don't know can i post what they sended me now, i'm scared like s07t now.. D; they said that i defame the're company and they will not hesitate to take action on me. and they even know i posted on mylp.

ori = all guitar (100% of quantity production) perfect..
fake = all guitar (maybe only 65% of quantity production) perfect..

but..., in future,
as i said before, situation like this might be happen.. just don't be surprised..

does it matter if a gio ibanez is ori or fake?

wat i meant was, the original gio barely stays in tune (models with trem), and poor intonation. a fake gio would perform somewhat close to the real gio. how bad can that fake gio get? so why bother..

the counterfeit chinese fender and had better QC than that gio in particular. even with stock hardware and electronics, i dare to say on par, if not better with the mex strat which i recently sold. having said that, i cannot guarantee that every fake is good.

when you buy original, yes quality is reassured (then again, look at the 5 piece body Am Std 80s Strat on sale in mudah.my).

nothing against budget line guitars, but my experiences with other brands like yamaha, sx, squier, and tanglewood were much better.
