guys! I'm suspecting a seller selling fake Kyser capos here. by the name of melthq. I bought 3 from him and IMO its quite good for its price (RM23). however, I noticed that:
1. I can't clamp the capo on my higher frets while my alice capo does the job really well. (on my acoustic)

2. It has fret buzz

3. It dosen't have any "kyser" logo on it

4. the built quality is quite poor. But I don't really bother that one for a capo.

Melthq: If you read this and got mad, I'm sorry. I'm just getting some opinions here. I was just assuming.

for pictures, you guys can go to my FB page at my siggy there and look for the "guitar accessories" photo album. search for the capo.

yeah.. somehow.. dunno.. they just have fret buzz..

i thought fret buzz is caused by the guitar itself? anyways.. Kyser capo without the logo? .. cmon.. you're a famous USA brand and you never even brand your goods?

nope.. not the guitar darren. there appear to be string marks on the capo. and hey, he was given good reviews.. and it arrived in a resealable plastic and not in a kyser pack like i was excpecting. I don't really search high and low for fake signs on accessories, but that capo is USELESS.. I prefer my cheap Alice MIC capo tqvm.

anyway, guess wat u bought is a copy...and those u can find everywhere for under RM20...plus u get packaging



why ppl never learn lesson? if its too good to be true, means its fake...
shouldve just paid for a better capo around RM50 like the jim dunlop trigger which is what im using...

everdying: theres a guy commented on his thread saying he bought one at RM25 at yamaha. so I was guessing Kyser capo got cheaper in KL? should we tell blacktrix to warn him or something?

the guy who said he bought it in yamaha...was it yamaha itself or a yamaha 3rd party dealer? i search the thread for yamaha got no hit.
remember there are music shops that have yamaha signboard that sells pianos mostly...and shop not even owned by yamaha.

anyway, u look at original kyser...and the one melthq selling can already see difference in design...

u bought 5? rm110? what pedals can get for rm110?
unless u sold off those fakes for rm50 each?

I bought 3 capo. and some other "lite stuffs" for my sales.. got also sold guitar profit.. all those can get me 2 pedals? sold them for RM30 so I rugi RM20. awesome.. :/

anyway, reason why u getting buzzing is probably cos the capo cant clamp tight enough due to inferior construction.
of cos i assume ur guitar already doesnt buzz at that spot right...

yup. my guitar is perfectly great. no problems on the action un-capoed.

The only time I saw Kyser capo was when I was at CK Music..
Looks legit and the price is RM50 minimum if not mistaken..
Long before that I bought what I thought was a Kyser-ish looking capo..
Paid a little less than RM20 for it..biggest mistake ever
It clamped too hard till it left a mark on my Yamaha F-310..
G7th capo is so tempting..
