1.Is my monitor suitable for gaming?
2.Will the text in some games such as RDR, Infinite Undiscovery and Fable 2 be readable or is it as minute as the text in a 21" crt sdtv?

no,becuz it a 17 inch,for HD gaming console,get atleast 20 inch

Yes you can, I used 15" Acer last time and it worked perfectly until it broke. The only thing you need to make sure is that your mon has at least 5ms or lower.

u need a bigger or widescreen monitor like heavy rain said,or your game will look weird on 17 inch monitor

17" CRT Samsung Monitor would work, i use it long time back, around year 2005. u just need to get a VGA cable for your xbox, & a female to female convertor (digital mall/lowyat to find this). so your monitor cable could connect with yr VGA cable.

the screen wont look wierd, it will look ultra sharp but very small. thats because game is design for widescreen. so you would have very thick black lines top & bottom of your screen. you would not have scanlines problem like you had on CRT TV.

the VGA cable also comes with a red & white audio cable, you would need that to connect to any 2.1/5.1 speaker system like altec lansing/edifier/sonic gear/creative. remember to double check if the woofer comes with the red/white audio input b4 you buy them.
