31 km is hardly long distance.

The maglev line is 31 km, 431 km/h speed only sustained for a few moments because of the short length of the track.

The thing is, this maglev line is actually built for the purpose of demonstrating the maglev technology in China.

For longer distance, China concentrate on normal steel wheel train (bullet train).

Shanghai - Nanjing, 301 km in length, just took 1 hour 13 minutes biggrin.gif
