Try this, the original article: Hardware.info: First official benchmarks AMD FX processor...They only compared with Sandy Bridge Core i5, and not Sandy Bridge Core i7? From the pre-order pricing leaks, it does look probable that AMD is targeting FX against Core i5 2500K range.  unsure.gif
Thanks. Had some problems with the computer jargon in chinese tongue.gif .

Yes, its more like Core i7 with 4C/8T. Check out this quote from Chew* (one of the overclockers at AMD FX overclocking event)...

Simple, the module is really the core itself (in other words, a module should be called a core). And inside the core, there's two clusters (AMD's marketing calls them cores, which can be misleading). One cluster is one hardware thread. wink.gif

OMG, n i really thought all the while AMD is really going for 8 physical core, instead of this. doh.gif so they avoid calling it 4c/8t (hyper-threading) not to get sued by intel?
thxs for this explanation btw wink.gif

I thought of the same thing as well tongue.gif . Its because the site said its 8 core so I thought its 8 physical core, in the end, 4 cores / 8 thread doh.gif

I wonder what would be the price of AMD FX? btw, just asking, will my AM2+ motherboard support it?

First need to identify ur current mobo's manufacturer then goto their website ~ then search for Am3 mobo compatibility for Amd FX processor , majority 880G & 890X chipset mobo is compatible after a flashing bios onli certain 7XX series chipset could support Amd FX .
