I would still prefer mobo with an Ide slot for my dvd writer. But in the next few years we may have to move to sata because to make an ide slot may not be cost effective anymore. Mobos these days also does not have ide slot. Ide is slower anyway.

folding@home smp client definitely will take advantage of this 8 cores cpu. wink.gif

Basically we could have 4 cores running games and the other four running on clients. brows.gif

I was just wondering the temp on 4 cores running clients. Anyone running all cores? Curious about the temp.

If say, 8 cores running wouldn't be the chip would be a bit hot? hmm.gif

not good as it might lead to Intel monopolizing the market.they better buckle up now or risk being take over by some company

I personally don't want it too, really. sad.gif

I've been always have the hope amd will get a better look at things & act accordingly. They still offer bang per bucks chips compared to intel which is overpriced. I believe they should not try to 'compete' with intel with the limited resources they have but instead work around the 'bang per bucks chip' concept.

I really like their llano chip for eg.
