Don't be so happy yet, if Intel decided to Slash price on their K-series CPUs on BD Launch, BD gonna get butt kicked REAL HARD, beside INtel CPUs is better when running console emulators like PCSX2(PCSX2 is very hurt CPU, especially if you emulate MGS2, Core I5 2500K at turbo speed still lag lolz)

hi bro

i try to run crash nitro kart on PS2 emulator was my fav game.. because now don have console.. do u know optimal settings? pls pm me if u r interested in sharing.

anyway many times before i don care about prices i ask my friends what is best cpu when want to buy a new pc.. but now i don care intel. always go for amd

the intel is almost always faster.. but how much extra need to pay for it? after a few times amd pay good price for cpu, then can save for gfx and others, now have brand loyalty amd dont care about intel anymore, because THIEF

That make me wonder about Ivy Bridge alot
what more can they implement to surpass AMD like SB do on Phenom

amd already announce the second generation BD as well as THIRD rclxms.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

this is also good for intel customers.. competition = good prices

No,actually the reason i care about Ivy Bridge alot is because it uses same LGA1155
so good news indeed but this continue later as we hear from BD performances really is

Its amazing from reading really but not sure if want to interested or walk away

gonna build 3k and 2.5k build so hope BD can higher enough to sastify my wallet
lol~

ehhh I don't have Crash Nitro kart but the default setting will mostly do fine and I running Full clamping, extra...err forgot the name on VUs for maximum compatibility, software rendering(hurt CPU more lolz) can help on display accurate graphic as well but they don't as nice as hardware of coz as for plugins GSDX, lilypad, SPU2-X are best for me

will try that thanks smile.gif

I'm using Athlon X2 4200+ ... runs most apps ok but not as fast as I want sometimes sluggish

was hoping bulldozer will be impressive... but its ok AMD try again I will wait for Bulldozer2, should be out early next year right?

I don care about having the fastest, just fast enough to run everything available today @ good price...

hope "AMD the smarter choice" will get back its meaning soon! NEVER INTEL, I will wait AMD just get busy and make a nice chip Ktkxbye

what about the improvements seen in windows 8?

what if bulldozer is not really bad, just that the software needs updates to use the new functions/hardware acceleration/whatever that is in the processor??

theres hope for some recovery?

hey guys,i really need your opinions..i'm clueless on what to do now,i already have a 990fx board for months now,i dont wanna have to change to sb coz then i'd have to buy a new board as well and thats gonna cost a lot..should i just buy a bulldozer just to complete my setup,or should i just change to intel? its still gonna be an upgrade for me tho, currently using a phenom ii x3 710. -was really hoping bulldozer would blow my mind, but it didnt sad.gif

wait for enhanced bulldozer, i think it will come out by beginning of 2012...

ur CPU is good enough for most things now.. unless u r into very heavy gaming.. just wait smile.gif

all people blame and curse AMD, not knowing that global foundaries (the fab company amd uses) had serious issues, and bulldozer was one of the victims..

AMD always comes back ...

pfft.. u mean just 10% improvement on performance next year? while SB is already 40% more efficient and powerful clock for clock compared to current BD? how many years does it take amd to have a comparable cpu compared to current SB?

I dont know bro does it look like Im working with AMD?

I was just answering to the guy he already bought a AM3+ board and was asking what he should do..

Do you know what AMD did around the year 2003? thats when it revealed a CPU faster than the fastest intel.. it wasn't expected but they did pull it off and went way ahead of intel... it was called the FX series

intel has vast resources, amd has been losing money for a long time now. and the global foundaries mess up really hit them bad.. they are probably the cause of all the delays..

just look at BD 8120 and 8150.. the speed difference between the two chips is vast, do you know what this indicates? this tells the yeild on the 8120 units was bad, so had to be underclocked.. clearly an indication of a really messed up fabrication proccess (GLOBAL FOUNDARIES again)

from an engineering point of view, bulldozer is completely new and "IN THEORY" should have been great. but in pracise, amd has to rely on other companies to pull it together, and this case unfortunately some of its partners messed up and now everyone is shouting at amd.

and WHY OH WHY are you whining and complaining about per clock and all that? this is a stuggling company and I read what some of its people wrote.. I really hope they pull it together again, its good for everyone to have a good thriving AMD

the smarter choice cpu dont sucks twice the amount of power the competitor's cpu consume while giving a lower performance at that..
no to mention having twice the number of transistors compared to the faster and more efficient cpu..
i was hoping also that BD might give us a suprise, but now that it is not, i am now regret my decision to wait for BD before upgrading my old and trusty 3.5 years old q6600  doh.gif

calm down bro.. I was just saying this speaking from a general perspective

i was so excited about bulldozer also.. but its finally out and this is all they could do..

no one ever speaks about global foundaries when the blame should at least 50% on them. They are the ones who fabricate the cpus.. amd is an engineering company it can't build the whole thing it self..

you look at things from the end user perspective, "show me the product or get out"... just listen to the story, try to know WHY THEY FAILED.. the bulldozer u see today was not AMD original plan

They should call it Phenom2PLUS instead.Down with the FX name...

Maybe its the new wimmen CEO  whistling.gif

yes, FX was only used to smash intel with "fastest available" cpu.. using the branding with the current bulldozer is unwise.. but i guess they need a selling point.. only the name left? tongue.gif

so a bad chip already getting near to beat 2600k over video transcoding. Sounds like a big plan and good stuff ish coming =D
*
yes I believe so as well.. thats why i suggested to the user who was asking what to do with his mobo to wait for enhanced BD. I think by then it will be refined and offers respectable performance..

it doesn't really matter if it was faster that the fastest fast CPU, just offers great performance to run everything available and good value.. then i'm buying rclxms.gif

then again there's the optimization thing, on windows 8 with different sheduling (never spelled that word correct) the performance increase by what 10% ?!! thats huge it shows what optimised software can do...

just need to give it time to mature i'm sure amd will pull it off again just like in 2003 smile.gif

With all those bad reviews, it seems on oct 12, AMD stocks still open up higher than previous day lol.

http://www.google.com/finance?q=AMD

I just realise Intel is practically 4.5x bigger than AMD lol...
*
4.5 times?

look at market capitalization:

Intel: 121.40 Billion

AMD: 3.41 billion

now if you read my posts in this thread they will make more sense rolleyes.gif

...and so AMD long time customers will start the wait cycle again for enhanced-BD or NG-Bulldozer.. hopefully by that time globalfoundaries will optimise their fab process and AMD fine tune BD.. AMD the Smarter choice (not at the moment but soon) icon_rolleyes.gif
