QUOTE(yshiuan @ May 23 2011, 10:59 AM) Don't be so ambitious first.. Lol..First, wait it to pwn sandy bridge, only then we talk bout ivy bridge. Since ivy bridge is not launched yet.. But hopefully, with the bulldozer, AMD can once again compete in Proc market. |

QUOTE(AlamakLor @ Jun 15 2011, 08:24 PM) Actually once I upgraded my PC next, I probably won't be touching the "next gen" CPU for awhile considering that I now have 2 x 6970 with ek waterblock sitting in my closet waiting for a platform to be installed into my casing. It's either going to be z68 or 990fx. So what concerns me the most is how will AMD's high end BD compete with Intel's IB for 1155 in the future. If AMD's BD can be better than SB by about 20-30%, then I'm sold..Currently waiting to see if BD worth buying or not.. Else, forced to go intel IB.. Intel claimed IB will hv 30% improvement over SB, so if BD is anything less than 20% improvement of SB, I feel I would rather wait for IB, since it's coming soon too.. But I really hope AMD can beat my expectation as I hv more preference towards AMD than Intel.. >_< |

QUOTE(saturn85 @ Jul 29 2011, 01:54 PM) yea, nice. Well, numbers of cores do matter anyways.. Even if it can win i7 2600k in terms of simulation etc, per core performance, it MIGHT not be able to win sb..haha, if amd dare to sell it as around the same price level, i think they are confidence can match up with core i7 2600k. But I really hope it will be able to win even for per core performance Then it will be the king of cpu for at least until intel shows what will come out from ivy bridge.. |

QUOTE(yinchet @ Jul 31 2011, 03:31 PM) another question will they launch new SB models if bulldozer really beat SB? I don't think they will do either, I feel they will just lower SB price.. or will they change the plans for early release of IB? Why amd keep delaying their release >_< Very eager to see the performance of amd.. |

Well, as long is it's indeed true in the end, then they have every right to imply it in their comics.. Otherwise... >_>

QUOTE(dma0991 @ Aug 15 2011, 09:16 PM) September 19th. Jot that down on your calendar or you could pre-order now and be the first to get when it comes out. Wouldn't risk pre-ordering something which doesn't have benchmark yet.. Though, I'm still feeling optimistic about bulldozer. Hopefully can win sb core to core performance. |

QUOTE(dma0991 @ Sep 7 2011, 10:39 AM) AMD Reschedules Launch of FX-Series Chips to October, Changes Launch Lineup Say whatttt??? Always delay.. Damn...It is in mid October or Q4 2011 this time compared to 19th September. FX-4170 also does not look promising with such a chip having a 125W TDP @ 4GHz+ as it might indicate there is not much overclocking headroom compared to the Core i5 2500K. ![]() Luckily I stopped waiting on July, else I waited for no reason |

QUOTE(1024kbps @ Sep 7 2011, 11:35 PM) The delays only for desktop chip, server chip start shipping already Normal consumers don't really give a cr*p about servers though..http://vr-zone.com/articles/update-amd-sta...iety/13510.html And I'm a normal pc user.. >_> QUOTE(1024kbps @ Sep 7 2011, 11:57 PM) If you are comparing 2 cpu with same manufacturing process: I am hoping for BD to hv at least as good performance compared to SB.. If can better than SB, all the better. At least, that means they are ready for IB.. More cores = more transistors = eat more electricity = higher power consumption Smooth gaming experience depending on many factors, some game dont use more than 2 cores(most calculation/tasks performed on GPU already), 8 cores BD would be useless for such games. Most gamers choose intel because better performance per core Keeping my finger cross |

A real disappointment.. Why do they even bother to delay the launch for 3 months? For some same lame performance?
Really disappointed with AMD this time. With all the bragging prior to release, this is all they could manage. |

QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Oct 12 2011, 05:28 PM) http://news.softpedia.com/news/AMD-Bulldoz...ps-203267.shtml Then AMD should've stopped the hype telling people that it's a FX revive.. AMD keep claiming that the performance will be mind blowing..This could be the reason. It was initially running @ 2.5GHz (3.5GHz turbo mode). The performance could be so bad until it did not make a single sense to market it at all. Yes, is indeed mindblowing, in a different way though. |
