hehe, most games use 2 cores,
so 6 cores can be used to run the folding@home client. brows.gif
but there are still games can utilize 4 cores. tongue.gif

i m running the client on all cores.
cpu temperature around 51'c.
not as hot as prime95. brows.gif

yea, like bro 1024kbps say,
the 8 cores cpu is 32nm part.
altough 8 cores are running,
but still less heat. brows.gif

yes, i m, hahaha. tongue.gif
*
i just wonder, can i folding with my phenom II x4? tongue.gif

6 cores temperature aroudn 51'c is not hot at all ? tongue.gif

that mean i no need build another rig for myself ? tongue.gif

bulldozer look tempting, thinking changing the board to AM3+ .. dunno worth a not, and dunno can it support fX core next time

kingkingyyk,if use Asus M5A88-V EVO got compatible problem with FX series processor? Cause its 880G/SB850 chipset &  Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 4250 GPU performance will increase if use FX series processor?tongue.gif Cause AMD FX Series CPU on this motherboard supports up to DDR3 1866MHz as its standard memory frequency. Thank You 1st. notworthy.gif

its 12core vs 6 core, sure bulldozer got advantage if the program can work on multiple core, really worried about Bulldozer IPC  sad.gif

3 bulldozer core takes 60-75% cpu usage for running dirt 3 (fps unknown),have lots of resources to use, but too bad that hardly to see games that utilized more than 3 core  hmm.gif
*
why need 8 core to run dirt 3 hmm.gif kinda dont understand at all

Smoother Framerates i assume? Looks like Dirt3 scale quite well.
Less core for gaming = Higher CPU usage = higher possibility of lagging or sudden drop in FPS, imho.
*
Mean more cores allow low CPU usage and power usage ? and this allow more smooth gaming experience.

i wanna ask all of amd cpu owners, how fast or does AMD's cpu price drop in Malaysia (not after 2~3 years or for used cpus)?

AMD's cpu price already dropped in the US. when is Malaysia's turn?
*
Last year bought a 955 for around 450 and now it drop until 350++ if I'm not mistaken .. Quite long for Malaysia to drop price .
